Born in 1962 in Varanasi, India, Mr Upasani post-graduated in commercial art from Benaras Hindu University, Varanasi.
He received merit scholarship in MFA and an award of "Best Work of the Year" by Mahakoshal Kala Parishad, Raipur.

Participations
Since 1986, he has been regularly participating in different art exhibitions in India. He participated twice in National Art Exhibition organized by the Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi in annual all India art exhibition organized by AIFACS, New Delhi, in Rashtriya Kala Mela, Delhi and Madras, in National Poster Competition organized by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development, New Delhi. He participated four times in annual art exhibition by the Lalit Kala Akademi UP and twice in Lalit Kala Akademi, Amritsar. He took active participation thrice in all India art exhibition organized by Working Artists of Varanasi. He also participated twice in Applied Arts Exhibition by LKA, Lucknow.

Solo Shows
Apart from these participations, he has done a few one-man shows in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalay, Jounpur; Committee for assistance to Italians, Varanasi and Regional Cultural Centre (UP Gov.) Varanasi.

Collection
His collections are in LKA, UP and many in private.
Ajay Upasani is a life member of Working Artists of Varanasi. At presant art teacher in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalay, Jaunpur, India.
