This canyon brims with slender, fantastically shaped red rock spires, called "Hoodoos", turning into color-changing stone chameleons, when early in the morning or late in the evening the sun`s rays bring them to life...The first sight of the canyon can be breathtaking: as Ebenezer Bryce, a Mormon carpenter with a gift for understatement, put it, the canyon is "one hell of a place to lose a cow..."
Bryce`s 18 mile main road winds past spectacular lookouts such as Sunrise Point, Sunset Point, Inspiration Point and Rainbow Point, but a range of hiking trails makes it a crime not to leave your car. Fairyland Point, at the north end of the park, has some of the best sights in the canyons. The Rim Trail parallels the Amphitheater and offers views of over 100 miles. The loop of the Navajo and Queen`s Garden Trails leads into the canyon past some natural bridges. More challenging options include Peek-A-Boo Loop winding in and out through hoodoos, and the trail to the Hat Shop, an extremely steep trail.
