Oh, the Places You'll Go
Dear Journal,
Max always said that the day could come where his identity and Michael's and Isabel's would be found out. He said that if this tragic event had happened then they'd leave. He'd leave Roswell, and he'd leave me.
Little did I know that, that day was last night. It was all a little fuzzie, because Max was in a rush when he was telling me this on the phone. He said the time had come. After 3 years of knowing they're secrets. During their senior year, it was all coming to an end.
They were leaving, going off in different directions so
that it would be harder for the FBI and the police to locate
them. He said something about Michael getting hurt, by falling on
a curb and some agents finding the blood traces on the street. I
wonder how Maria is taking this all in?
"Wa- Wait Michael, speak a little clearer, I thought I
just heard you say you were leaving, that can't be right? What
are you talking about? Speak clearly," Maria said as tears
started to form in her eyes.
"Maria, its over, all of this. It's gone, everything, all
our secrets, and lies, they're gone, they're out in the open.
Everyone knows. I have to leave. Tonight! Because it was MY blood
they found, it was MY cells they looked at in the microscope, its
ME who they're after at the moment, but Max and Isabel, they're
leaving too! We're going we are all going. Bye Maria, my Maria,
" he said as he kissed her on the lips and then hugged her.
Closing his eyes, smelling her soft hair, with its scents on it.
He pulled away and looked in her eyes. "Bye, love you,"
he said and he left with a slight
'bang' with the door being shut.
Maria walked over the window full in histerics now, tears running
in all different directions on her cheecks, coughing and crying
at the same time. "No, Michael, no. :Gasp: oh God, oh my God,"
she said as she breathed into the window. She sunk down in the
floor and cried more than she had ever cried in her life.
Liz stared out at the street from her rooftop. For some reason
she couldn't cry. She knew he was leaving and yet she still
couldn't cry. She knew crying would come soon. Right now, it was
more shock.
The phone started to ring and she picked up the reciever.
"Hello."
It was Max. "Liz, its me, listen, we're leaving now, meet us at the airport right away" was all he said and she hung up.
She didn't even get to say 'Oh hi, Max, good to hear from you,
want to go out to dinner friday?' Because a friday dinner with
Max would never happen again, he would be in a different state,
maybe a different continent by then! She would never have another
long night phone conversation with him. When they would stay up
will 1 in the morning discussing their plans for the next week,
and talking about how horrid school was, and dream about their
future.
Liz walked downstairs and grabbed her keyes just as Maria showed
up in the Crashdown doorway. "You're taking me with you,"
she said with new tears forming in her puffy red eyes. Liz just
nodded and they headed for the car.
