Chapter 07

I had History, and usually that would be so boring But my teacher this time was Mr. Schulz, and he makes history seems like a joke. Although he hardly takes down notes, or ever use the blackboard, he makes it so we dont ever forget. He jokes about the littlest mistakes done in the past, and he even makes fun of himself. Like about his age, his beer belly and his nearly baldness, with some grays on the side of his head. But History class isnt just about the world, more like his life. Thats right. He talks about his life at least once a day. He gets easily sidetracked, and distracted.

Today, we somehow started by going over the Chapter on the lost Empire of Atlantis to how he spent his years in Manitoba. Saying things like how he meets his wife, or how he reacted when he received his first son. Man, hes got a lot to talk about

and when I saw him, I was like Whoa! Look how big his nose is! Must be part of Joanne family, cause thats defiantly not from my side of the family! He said as he pointed at his obtuse nose, smiling at the same time. Truthfully, Im so glad none of my parents are Teachers, or else they be doing what he is now

UmmSir? There was a question of page 105 which I dont understand. I asked gentle, just to make him back on topic. I, of course, knew the answer. But it was the only thing I could think about. Page 105? Hmm Why was Atlantis feared? He said, reading the question. I mean, if Greek had out numbered them by a lot. Why were they feared? Stupid of me to ask, when I already know the answer, but it was to get him thinking.

Ok, you guys are the Greeks. He said pointing to three quarters of the class. And the rest of you are the Atlanteans. Pointing to the others. Now the Greeks have Swords and Bows. And the Atlanteans have Guns and Tanks. How do you think is going to win? He asked sarcastically. Obviously the people who have the Guns! Screamed Chris, a classmate of mine with a mouth to big and opened for his own health. Of, course they didnt have tanks and Guns, but they had the technology that the Greeks didnt.

It was because of this that the Greeks had feared the Atlanteans. That and the fact that the Atlanteans had threaten to invade all of Europe and Asia, and probably America, had they known about it. The Greeks are have said to have defeated Atlantis to avoid enslavement, according to Platos Dialogues. But they have some facts to back that up. There have been some scriptures from the Greeks saying that there was a continent located in the Mediterranean Sea. But even the Natives have some paintings of a great civilization that surpassingly outdid their native gods. In a matter of fact, today, well take a stroll down to the Old Museum of Ancient Cultures. He finished up. Everyone cheered when he mentioned about our trip.

It wasnt far, more like four or five house down Williamstown. We had our small class on the side of the empty road; I was talking to my friends, as were most of the others. In this small, peaceful village of Williamstown, hardly any traffic or stores. Its in the middle of farming lands and is surrounded by either forest or cornfields. There is a river called the Raisin River that flows right through Williamstown. Its funny to have a high school and an elementary school in this little village.

You remember when we were in Grade eight, right? With the Charlies Angels thing? Jessa said to me as we were walking. Umm kinda. I said innocently, but the truth was, I wanted to forget that embarrassing moment. It was a time where Jessa had first saw Charlie Angels, since than shes been acting like them. She would kung-fu bad guys. She, Callie, and another friend of ours were the angels. They were so embarrassing to look at; I couldve see their weakness Oh, you dont remember because you didnt want to fight! Youre so innocent, you probably cant even protect yourself.

Callie coughed at that, she than looked directly at me. Eye-to-eye contact. Only she knows me enough, to know that Jessa only sees the Rachel at school, the innocent side of me. Callie knows that I can be dangerous, and she knew why I didnt play the Charlie Angels. I could have hurt them.

You see, growing up in my family, you would naturally grow to love fantasy and the martial Arts. I grew up learn by myself how to use wooden weapons, and to master my own style of techniques. I never went to Martial Arts Class, so I developed my own free-style. You see, Martial Arts have its restrictions. Dont hit under the belt, dont hit when their down and all that stuff. Well, if a serious situation comes by, do you think you care about those restrictions? Your safety is what naturally comes to mind.

Anyways, my family does know some knowledge on arts of fighting. We even choose a weapon to practice with, because we loved fantasy a little too much when we were young. But it kind of stuck to us. I would use a staff, Kevin would use a sword, and Eric would practice with duel katantas. Although theyre wooden, we do know some techniques and risks with them. Like they would be heavier, making it hardier to move and use them. Or that depending on the type of sword Kevin would use, it would vary his strengths and weaknesses.

So one day, I had invited Callie over. But I forgot and went outside in our one anchor yard out in the country, and practice with my brothers. Kevin and me would always teach Eric the martial arts; Kevin would teach him offensive moves, while I would teach him defensive moves. Anyways, Callie came, and went to the back where she saw us. Man, was she shocked to see me fighting

Even though, my family can be dangerous, we tend not to let the outside world know. What started as a childs play, turned out to be our daily practice. Were known to the outside world as peaceful and innocent. But thats far from the truth

Well, anyways. I would kick Matts butt and Callie and Julie would just stand there, laughing! Jessa said, making her more than she really is Kayleigh came to us from the front of Mr. Schulz class. She had papers in her hand, handing one to everyone. Whats this? asked Jenn. Looking at the paper she was just handed. Werent you listening to Schulz in class? This is your report to answers. She said as she handed me one. 25% of our mark this term!! Shouted Jessa, she looked at her paper again just to make sure. Yeah, he said it was part of our final project I said innocently, I think she got pissed at me for saying that. But shes always made at me for getting good grades.

He told me to tell everyone that this is the only one youre getting, so dont loose it! Kayleigh said as she walked towards the guys behind us. Dont worry! Its not like our papers are just going to fly away! Shouted Jenn, and ironically, as I was folding my paper to stick in my pocket, the wind picked it up and flew away. Well, you look at that! Run like the wind, Rachel! Jenn laughed as I went running down the hill beside us, running after my paper.

I was laughing at myself, what a coincidence that it went flying away. I had to catch up to it because at the bottom of the story-height hill was the Raisin River. And my paper was heading right to it! I caught up to my paper, but as soon as I went to catch it, the wind blew a gust of wind to my left! I ran that direction, but slowed down when I saw where my paper was. In the hands of Jeremy friend.

No. Way. Where the hell did they come from!? Well, Im pretty dumb. They were off school properties and hidden from the police, they we probably doing drugs down here. The guy with my paper must have seemed the horrified look I bore, I see, we meet again! You should really be in class now, but being here at this time and day is just what weve been waiting for. They all bore Evil grins. I looked back to see if my friends had followed me, but I saw my class walk around the corner. Out of sight.

I started to back up while still facing them. But one of the boys said something that made me stop, Whats the paper say? Tell us what this girl has been writing, Tom? The boy named Tom had looked at the paper, Looks like a report or an assignment... One of the his friends grabbed the paper and looked hard, Says here that its worth 25% of this term Joe, is that a lot? Ok, that was dumb. But that guy looked like he was serious, meaning that hes got to be pretty dumb. Yes, you dumb-shit! said Joe as he hit the dumb boy in the head. Well, than would you like it back? Tom asked me. He bore a smile that still was evil. But I need that paper.

I approached them cautiously, but as I got closer, he would back up farther. And before I thought it was a trap. I was trapped. I was surrounded. I didnt even notice the others guys go around me to block my passage out of the little corner. One side had a cliff, two other sides was the river, and the only one left was blocked by Tom and his friends

He just than crumpled up my paper, and shot it high in the air. I tried to catch it, but I notice that he shot it too high for me and too far to land on the ground. I turn around and kneed down against the water, trying to get my paper. But it just floated away in the currents that soon will be rapids I tried to hide my destruction but they just pushed me too far.
