Chapter 04

        Truthfully, I should never have butted into Kayleigh problems� But, I don�t know. It like attracted me to it. But this is the first time, which I feel so�involved. I think that it�s just me asking for trouble, but it�s the adventure that strikes me. The mystery of what�s going on�

           And the thought of Jeremy and Kayleigh just calls adventure, or danger. But I guess I got involved right when I read that note that was sticking out her locker. The letter itself wasn�t what made me come, at the least it would make me turn back right now and forget the whole thing. I guess it was that I came at the right time that I happen to see her at the back of the gym with Jeremy.

            Now here I am sneaking around the back and secretly listen to what they have to say. But to my luck, I found a spot to watch from a distance. I looked around, to make sure no one saw me, than turned my attention on them. The place they choose was probably where the people come to smoke drugs and such, because of the enclosed area. There is a way for a person to see them directly, besides watching from behind a wall like I, but who would come here in the first place. The area has the two walls cornering it and the endless cornfield on the other side.

            �I guessed this is where you wanted to meet��Said Kayleigh, you can tell she was mad, the harsh noise in her throat was like a scream for an answer. �Why so mad? You love me, don�t you?� Jeremy said innocently, it�s weird how innocent he sounded like� �I loved you once, but you avoided me. Threatened me. And disappeared for at least a week without telling me where you were going! Why? Why did you do this!?!?!� She demanded, screaming so loud that someone could have heard and came and caught them. It didn�t matter to her. But it did to me, and to Jeremy. I don�t want to get caught and if a teacher saw me, they would say that I skipped clase. But as for Jeremy�

            �Hush. You don�t want to be found do you?� He asked calmly. �I don�t care! And why would you care?� She was starting to notice the odd attitude he had. �You and I will both care, soon.� He said; still calm and now mysterious. ��What? What are you talking about?� Her voice sounded like she was scared, noticing that �this� wasn�t Jeremy.

           Jeremy walked to the nearest wall, in the shadows he reached in and brought the bucket to the center of the area. Kayleigh looked at Jeremy with a disgusted face, �What is that arm doing in that � is that blood?!� In truth, it was a bucket full of guts and blood. I could see from my distance the arm and something that looked like an intestine hanging off the bucket! Now most people would have thrown up, but I have see horror movies much worst than this. But I was more scared than horrified.

           Sure, a bucket of guts and blood and all would scare someone, but it wasn�t that. It was the thought of how he got the bucket full of that stuff that scared me. How could someone just walk around with a bucket with an arm hanging off the side without anyone noticing anything? And at the least, how could he do that right at school? !

            �How the HELL did you get that?! Did you kill someone?! Is that even real?� Kayleigh demanded the same answers I wanted to hear. Jeremy was as calm as ever, ignoring her questions. He took the arm and starts to draw on the ground around them. He made a circle with a pentacle about two meters wide and inside would hold some symbols. Some of the symbols were familiar, while others were totally new to me. In the middle of the circle was a smaller circle, and inside that circle a smaller one would be there, and it continued for several circles. When he was complete, the blood circle looked very much like a�

            �This is a summoning circle� Jeremy said calmly as he threw away the arm and the bucket of blood. �It is the only way to summon one of us, next to an eclipse.� Jeremy continued. �The circle varies depending on who is summoned.� he informed Kayleigh on the purpose of the circle. I only knew that a circle like that was used in the video games and movies I watched. There were several purpose to a circle, but a blood circle, well, usually that means it�s to summon a monster or something like that.

             �What are � you going to summon?� She shuttered, now frightened of the circle and Jeremy. She slowly backed away from the circle, but she was still a meter or so to get off it. Jeremy had a smirk that could have killed the innocents of child with one look. �Dat hied yoim hunera juoin kilde smirl wiji qulo l�leh fo setag DEAMON!� He chanted in an odd tone. All of the sudden the sky blacked and the air picked up and it was as hot as a sauna!  The heat was starting to burn my skin and the one thing I could make out in the heat and wind was Jeremy and Kayleigh, right where it was all coming from.

             The air carried the sounds of inhuman screams and the fires came from the circle, engulfing Jeremy and Kayleigh. I heard Kayleigh scream and the fire grew more intense than before, blinding my sight and burning more than ever!

             I had to turn around, and forced myself against the ever so cooling wall. It seems that the heat and the light from the fire did not affect the things that it was not facing. But the sky was still clouded but the wind was not as bad as before. I tried to run, but I couldn�t move! I was frozen in place! But I wasn�t scared.

            Okay, I was scared, but not scared enough to be frozen like this. Only when the wind died down and the sky returned to normal was I able to move. Right than, I ran. I wasn�t thinking about what happened to Kayleigh, because the light show was a little too much for me. But I guess when I started to run they heard me. I could hear someone dashing to the corner I just stood seconds ago. But before they got to see me I dashed to the door and I heard the bell ring.

            Classes were done and everyone was getting out. I ran in the crowd, hoping that it would make whoever was chasing me a lesser chance of finding me. I passed Callie, she said �What the HELL is WRONG with you?!?! You actually skipped a class! And to make things worst, you did it with out me!� She grabbed my shoulders and shaking me to see if she can get some information out of me. �Hello?! Anyone in there? You look so paranoid. What happened, someone chasing you?� she joked. But this was no joke.

             �Look, I have to go. I�ll tell you later, it�s just� Very important!� I told her, as I was going to my locker. But I bumped into Jenn; she repeated the same thing that Callie �Whoa! Dude! You actually skipped Class! I�ve always wanted to skip class, but I�m always too scared to do that! What did you do all this time? Hey?! Hellooo?� What? How does everyone know I skipped? No time to think, I have to get away! They�re following me! I have to hide! �Sorry, I�ll tell you later.� I said rushing by a lot of people.

              All these people were acting so normal, what�s wrong with them? Didn�t they notice the sky darkened in a short time, and the wired sounds, or the tormenting scream of Kayleigh? How could these people be so� dumb!! But than�

              I just couldn�t believe it. Kayleigh was at her locker, which happened to be right beside mines�She looked ok. She was ok. I started to walk to my locker, still looking at her suspiciously. �Hey Rachel, I heard that you skipped class. Is that true?� she said in ordinary voice, in an ordinary tone. See what I told you, in a matter of minuets, the whole school knows that I skipped class.

              �Umm� kinda of.� I said slowly. �Really? I would never guess that you would even try to do anything like that. I mean, most people say that you get to class five minuets early! I can�t even think of the reason why you might even skip. Is just for the adventure or the thrill? I mean there are ��She just kept talking and talking. Just like the ordinary Kayleigh, talking nonsense.

              But what happened before? With Jeremy and that circle of blood? Wouldn�t she say something about that? Or maybe she was hiding something, whatever happened after. But that can�t be, she seem so scared. And that couldn�t be kept a secret long enough in this school, but maybe�

             �Umm� Kayleigh what class did you just have?� I interrupted her, but she really doesn�t mind. �Me? I just had Foods. Why?� Foods, huh? Isn�t Sam Martin in there? I�m sure that Kayleigh friend would know where she was, this will tell me if what happened with Jeremy is just a dream or it�s real. �Did you cook today?� I asked, just to cover up. �No. We did book work, man, I wish I could have skipped that class like you�� I opened my locker and quickly grabbed my books and said, �Sorry, but I don�t want to skip this class too. Bye!� I left in a hurry and went to Sam Martins locker.

              I spotted her right at her locker, �Um, Sam?� She turned around and looked at me surprised. I guess it�s because I don�t usually talk to her. �Rachel! I heard that you skipped class! Man, I couldn�t believe it! Did you really?� I getting tired of these stupid questions� �Yes, it is!� I said harshly, I could see that Sam was a bit hurt. �Sorry, I just� Can you tell me something? Was Kayleigh at Foods today?� I said calmer.

              �Kayleigh? Yeah! She was practical sleeping do all that work in foods, do you know how boring book work is?!� she laughed. Than all I saw with Kayleigh and Jeremy was a dream� It�s not even true, and I was acting so paranoid� and it all wasn�t even true.
