Main Author from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia
Abstract - Increasing workload has lead teachers nowadays to ignore the significance of reflective practice in classrooms. This research aims in discovering the influence of reflective teaching in enhancing the English as Second Language Teaching (ESL) teaching practice. It also reveals the role of an e-portfolio in supporting reflective practice. Primary data was collected among the B. Ed TESL student teachers through interview, focus group and also through the analysis of the selected reflections upon the observed English lessons. Student teachers are expected to practice observational reflection that allows the teachers to expand ideas on the ways of enhancing lessons, to accept and handle diverse types of students and to be critical while avoiding being judgmental when facing classroom issues. Nevertheless, their ability to implement these reflective qualities in their teaching is uncertain as they did not gain the appropriate chance in reflecting upon their own teaching practice. The Victory e-portfolio supported and assisted the B. Ed TESL undergraduates’ reflective practice. Personal documentations,, personal space in reflecting and the development of peer reflection were conducted conveniently with the existence of Victory E-Portfolio. Nonetheless, advantages such as synchronous chat to enable the receiving of feedback from the teacher educator which are unavailable in Victory e-portfolio have been proven to be the aspect that could improve the ability of e-portfolio to assist reflective practice. This research had allowed the emergence of further recommendations on future research through the findings and discussion according to the principles of reflection.

Abstract - Information technologies are intensively used in architectural design process today.  However in architectural education today, the conventional tools are still used.  The current hybrid education system today is considered as a transition process to digital technologies. The main objective of this paper is to present an action research conducted in a Politeknik Port Dickson in comparing the effect of using digital visualization technologies to the use of traditional visualization technologies in teaching architecture design process to the diploma students. For this conventional and digital visualization technology are used in design process being analyzed and compared.  The study had been done for four semesters at Politeknik Port Dickson using case study. The products from both methods were compared and evaluated in measurement and questionnaire. An evaluation study was performed with 38 students. The field study was done with the same students starting from semester one to semester four for two successive years. This study shows that digital visualization technic produced better products in the design process compared to traditional visualization technic. The transition from traditional to digital technologies in visualization process is compulsory for the development of architectural education in Politeknik Port Dickson.

Abstract - The use of web-based technology in teaching language skills to English as Second Language (ESL) learners has generated interest among educators and instructional developers. However the use of web-based learning in teaching speaking skills within local secondary school Malaysian context is still at its early stage. Thus this is a conceptual paper on a study which aims to develop and evaluate a speaking resource known as the Let’s Speak. The resource provides assistance towards secondary school students, especially in Malaysia sub-urban and rural areas who lack high interest to speak in English language. The resource will be developed using the ADDIE Model in order to determine students’ needs, establish design, develop, implement and evaluate the resource.  A questionnaire will be developed based on Davis’ Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) research framework to measure: (i) usefulness; (ii) ease of use; (iii) ease of learning and (iv) the satisfaction level of secondary school students utilizing the speaking resource. The research data will be collected from 250 secondary school students in East Coast of Malaysia. This data will then be analysed using descriptive analysis in determining the ESL learners, teachers and experts’ response towards the resource in needs analysis stage.
