Races Elves The elves were the firstborn of Iluvatar, created by the song of the Ainur and slept in Middle Earth during the first age of Arda. They awoke with the first twinkling of the stars and were loved by the Valar, Iluvatar's aides in Arda. They have a love of nature, of beauty and art and also great and resilient warriors. Humans They were the Aftercomers, since they awoke long after the elves when the sun first crossed the skies above Middle Earth. Also referred to as the Atani, they befriended the elves and learned much of the skills and language of the elves. Dwarf Appreciative of mines, blacksmithery and weapons. Aggresive Hobbit Small creatures, very traditional and of simple living. Ent Giants, with tree-like qualities and speed. Istari Wizard race, not of Middle Earth.
