Can you trust Leon

In a word: yes.

Any bookmaker that has been around for more than a decade is worth their salt. Seriously, though, Leon has now operated internationally for 15 years. They are still new in India, but they have a long and positive track record to back them up.

Interestingly, Leon does not just offer a Curacao license but also a gambling license from the Kahnawake Gaming Commission, which is the first North American gambling license to have been established. That is a bit unusual, but two licenses are always better than one in our book.

On top of that, though, we also couldn’t find any major issues or complaints about Leon. Sure, there are always unhappy customers, who complain about losing money and never winning anything, but that’s part of gambling or betting.

Leon is certainly not perfect, but they do have proven themselves to be trustworthy, so we have no reason not to recommend them to you.

Cricket betting and odds

So, when you login from India, cricket betting is at the top of sports in the left-hand menu. As it should be, to be honest.

Competitions are sorted according to region, which is handy, though it requires you to select two drop-down options instead of one. 

At the time of our review, odds for the following cricket competitions were available:

That’s an excellent selection of events not just when it comes to the big competitions but mostly smaller domestic competitions. 

And there are tons of markets available for most of these events, at least a handful dozen up to well over 150. 

The odds are competitive, too. With some of the smaller events, we can’t always choose among top odds, but you won’t be disappointed with what you find at Leon.

Live betting

Naturally, live betting is available as well. You need simply click on ‘Live’ in the top menu and all currently available matches for betting live on cricket and other sports are available. Plenty going on here for live betting enthusiasts.

However, there is no live streaming. Only eSports showed up in the ‘Stream’ section here, which is a bit of a bummer.

Other sports

The sportsbook at Leon is not as big as other international sportsbooks. When we reviewed them for you, we found 17 other sports listed, not counting eSports. That’s solid and covers a good range of sports, but horse racing or special events where not available here. Just solid sports betting.

The good news is, we were able to find kabaddi betting option, which should please anyone who loves this second-favourite Indian sport.

What else does Leon offer?

Leon is not just a sportsbook. An online casino and a live casino are also available. The main menu makes a distinction between slots and live casino, mind you.

Keep in mind that you will only get your free bet if you actually lose your first bet.

There is also a casino welcome offer, which will give you a maximum of INR 20,000 extra in bonus funds for your first two deposits. The best thing here is that the first deposit comes to 120% and the second is still a 100% deposit bonus – not your usual 100% and 50% deal!

Alas, the wagering requirements are a bit steep here with 35x deposit and bonus to be wagered within 30 days before a withdrawal is possible.

Banking options

Figuring out the available banking options at Leon was a bit of a challenge. They do provide links to further information on how to deposit and how to withdraw. But first you must register and login, which is just inconvenient.

At the bottom of the homepage, only Visa and MasterCard are present with logos, but nothing much beyond that. Still, we dug deeper for you and found the following payment options at Leon:

Besides INR, a bunch of other currencies are also supported, though we are mainly happy to see Indian rupees in the list.

Withdrawals may be subject to a security check, which is usually part of the KYC process. Be sure to get your ID verified at Leon sooner rather than later to avoid unnecessary delays.

Beyond that, we didn’t find any withdrawal limits, but you may want to check with customer service to be certain that none apply.

Support

The support at Leon is available 24/7 via email and live chat. To access the latter, you will have to sign into your account (provided you registered), which is a little bit annoying. Live chat should always be available at all times to all customers or potential customers.

You can write an email instead, if you prefer.

Whilst there is no dedicated FAQ section, there is an ‘Info’ section at the bottom of the homepage, which provides links to useful topics, including the terms and conditions, responsible gaming, rules, and much more. We would prefer to see an FAQ section as well, but you will find plenty of information regardless. Just not neatly packaged.

Software

What struck us right away when we first visited the Leon.bet homepage was the pleasant design. The website is mostly black with a few colour splashes here and there. The layout is user-friendly and not overly cluttered, giving the homepage a more streamlined design.

It is super easy to navigate, and you won’t have troubles finding whatever it is you are looking for. It might not be the most modern sportsbook out there, but it functions very well, and we don’t ask for more than that.

The mobile site also offers full functionality and has been scaled down to the smaller screen. The web developers have done an excellent job here and the mobile page is great to use.

What’s more, there is a mobile app, which you can download directly from the Leon homepage. Unfortunately, only an Android app is available here. There does not seem to be an iOS app at this time. Still, the mobile site does a great job for iOS users as well, but it feels like a bit of an oversight.

Conclusion and final thoughts

We like Leon as a new entrant to the Indian sports betting market. The homepage is clean, easy to navigate and pleasant to use. There are no issues with populating markets, updating live games or loading games – which is true for the desktop as well as the mobile page.

The sportsbook may not be as vast as that of many other international bookmakers, but you get a solid selection of sports to bet on. Plus, cricket betting really is very well covered here. We have zero complaints and for that alone can easily recommend Leon.
