Today has come.
I had thought I would be nerves or delighted
or excited, however, I was pretty calm, as
if it was nothing special.
I left home at 6am. My sister, Mamiko, drove
me to the station, then got on a train to
the airport.
My flight was Cathey Pacific Airline(CX),
so I had to transit at Hong Kong.
At Hong Kong Airport, I needed to spend time
about 9 hours!
OK, I tried foot Massage, then sent several
e-mails to my friends and family from free
internet room.
"Hello, I arrived in Hong Kong! Soon
I'll be in LONDON!!"
Finally, I left for Heathrow Airport, UK.
It was quite a long flight. Yet, CX was pretty
comfortable.
Besides, I got an ice cream, which was quite
impressive in long flight.

At 5:55 am, I've got to Heathrow.
First, I went to the Hotel Oliver in Earl's
Court by tube.
I had been told it would be difficult to
check-in before noon, yet, when I arrived,
a frontperson gave me a room.
I took a shower, then went to the city.
It is very cold here, in spite of April.
In Japan, no one wears a sweater, nor jacket,
they only wear a shirt.
But, here in London, Jackets are necessary,
some are wearing a scarf. (oh my god!)
I confirmed the location of my English school,
then went to the Dickens House.
I majored in English literature in university,
and I liked reading Dickens.
"David Copperfield" "Great
Expectations" "A Tales of
Two Cities"
,,,all of them were my favorite!
In his books, every characters are acting
lively.
That is the reason why I visited this Dickens
House.
Inside the house, there were a lot of his
things, books.
I watched a video tape introducing who is
Dickens.
He wrote "Oliver Twist" in this
house.
Oh, what a historical place I was in ! Still cold outside. I had a hot milk tea
in the hotel.

| 21.April.Sat. clear, sometimes rainy |
Sunny day. It was warm during day. (yet,
morning was chilly...)
After breakfast at hotel, I went to Charing
Cross station to make it sure how to get
to Mottingham.
Mottingham is a place to homestay.
Then, I visited Trafalger Sq.
There are a lot of tourists, and much more
pigeons.
I felt scared when all the pigeons flew at
the sametime.

I looked over a city from bus.
I like London, which is historical, comfortable,
calm and lovely.
The bus took me to the Oxford St., BigBen,
V&A museum, Covent Garden...
I made a phone call to my host family in
the evening.
"Hello, this is Fumiko. I am coming
there tomorrow. I will go by train, and can
I walk from the station?"
" It's far from the station. I will
drive you home. When you get to the station,
please call me."
Mr. Bain said so, it sounded very kind.
And surprisingly, he added clearly in JAPANESE.
"Denwa shi te. (call me)"
He seems to be kind, so I am relieved.
