| Section 5 - Try Harder! |
| If your drive is to try harder: Your values are those of persistence, patience and determination. You will use the word try, which usually means Ill try to do it instead of actually doing it. You often appear very tense. You are intense and committed to righting wrongs. You are usually on the side of the underdog - often working for causes. You take on a lot of tasks - often uncompleted. You set high goals - often not achieved. You are a hard worker. Your stress is induced by being criticised for not caring or not being responsible and be told You are not trying. Your stress behaviour is that much effort goes into trying - but little is achieved. Lots of tasks are taken on and promises made - but something always gets in the way of a success. You then tend to move into reactive, rebellious behaviour. The drivers you have picked up are those of Keep trying, Dont be satisfied, Dont relax. Your ways of reducing stress in yourself are; Notice how often you say Ill try and say I Will or I wont instead. Before you take on extra work check that it is realistic for you to do so. Check that you want to do things rather than you ought to do them. Try to stop comparing your self with others. Create standards for yourself which are not related to others. Be willing to distinguish between things you can change and those which you cannot. Start now and not tomorrow |
