DIARY OF WILLOW ROSENBERG
It will be five years tomorrow that she disappeared, and four and a half years since the Memorial
Service. The plaque read:
BUFFY ANNE SUMMERS
BELOVED DAUGHTER,
FRIEND AND PROTECTER
1981-
MAY YOU BE HAPPY WHEREVER
YOU MAY BE
Two weeks after Giles' explanation of that darned prophecy, Buffy disappeared. She was having doubts
about her ability to stop what she knew nothing about. Numerous calls from many Watchers and too
numerous informants with nothing to offer, finally brought the Slayer down to earth.
At first we thought that maybe she had just run away and that once she thought about it she would
be back again. After a month everyone started to get worried and so we set to tracking her down.
After she had been gone for six months, her parents decided to hold a service. To this day, not one
thing has been heard from her. Buffy's parents had turned to each other in their grief and had
reconciled, rather late if you ask me.
I think it's pretty safe to say that she is dead. Buffy could never go off and neglect everything for
such a long time. I guess I've had time to come to termswith everything and finally admit to myself
that she is probably dead. None of us have ever been the same since that memorial service. It meant
that we had to accept what we fearedthat the Slayer, our best friend, was gone.
A few good things came out of our grieving period. We all turned to one another for support and in
doing so, realized how we feel for one another. Eventually, I married Oz, Xander married Cordelia,
Giles married Jenny, and Buffy's parents were remarried..
Oz and I have two children, both girls, Sheila, who is 18 months, and Buffy, who is three. Xander
and Cordelia have a boy, Daniel, who is four years old. Fortunately, pregnancy seems to have calmed
Cordelia down a bit. Giles and Jenny have cute little twin boys, Robbie and Chris, both three and a
half years old. The biggest surprise comes from Joyce and Hank, who will once again be parents in five
months. One thing about that worries me though, and that's Joyce's feeling that she is constantly
being watched.
She thinks it's Buffy.
*~*~*~*
ONE WEEK LATER
The past few years had been eventful. They had delivered the children of 'evil', it had begun to
unravel. All four of them had each other, and they were almost ready to bring destruction upon the
world.
*~*~*~*
SUNNYDALE HIGH LIBRARY
Oh, dear, Rupert Giles thought to himself, I do believe it's time I had a word with the rest of them.
Following this, he quickly contacted everyone, asking to meet them in the library as soon as possible.
He then picked up the letter he had been reading and as he read it once more, he began to feel an
emotion akin to panic.
An hour later, everyone was there. The gang was once more assembled in the library, plus and minus
one.
Sitting in that extra seat once occupied by Buffy, was another Slayer, one who had been called two
years ago and was handed to Watchers Rupert Giles and Willow Rosenberg (who had kept her maiden
name after her marriage.).
Looking around the table, Giles wondered how he could tell them, bring back memories long thought
dealt with.
"So, why are we here Giles? We have children to pick up soon." Queried Xander.
"We have a rather large problem, in the form of a certain prophecy foretold five years ago." He
stated rather half-heartedly.
"Oh God," this comment from Xander, but was echoed around the table.
"Okay, someone please explain what is going on?" asked Tanya Davidson, the Slayer currently assigned
to the Hellmouth.
Giles patiently sat down at the table, removed his glasses and began to relate the story while cleaning
them with his handkerchief.
"So, this prophesy, you've brought it up along with painful memories, I'm assuming, does that mean
it's coming to pass?" she asked quietly.
Around the table came a number of startled gasps as they recalled the words of the prophecy: And
chaos shall reign upon the world.
Giles' answer was a quiet "yes".
He continued, "I received a letter from a friend of mine, a fellow Watcher, in Germany, who has
found reference of the signs that indicate the coming of the four who will bring destruction upon the
world. The first is a severe increase of natural disasters, which would explain the numerous volcano
eruptions, floods in Africa and earthquakes. The next, is a sudden decrease of demonic activity in the
area surrounding the Hellmouth, which has also occurred, and last of all, a sudden eclipse at midday
accompanied by a storm that will light the sky, which I am assuming refers to an electrical storm."
Suddenly the doors of the library were shoved open as a middle aged couple burst into the room.
Willow was the first to recover, "Hank, Joyce, uh, what a surprise."
*~*~*~*
Unbeknownst to the group was the couple who were eavesdropping from the behind the stacks.
"You'd think that after five years of research, they'd have more to go on." One of them stated with
disgust.
"Hmm, I'm rather disappointed, but it's easier for us, although I would have appreciated a good fight
after so long." The other pouted.
"Don't worry, you'll get your fight, but for now, let's keep listening, it's starting to get interesting."
Joyce pleaded with them, "I want to know what's going on. It's happening isn't it? What he said
would happen is going to happen."
"HowwhatI don't understand." Giles finished lamely.
"I've known for years about Buffy's calling. I read her diary after the memorial. But the reason I
believed it was because of my stepfather, who was a part of the Council before he died over twenty
years ago. I then understood what he meant when he said that she bears the mark. It all came back
with that diary. Not two hours ago, I found that same diary sitting on the dining room table after it
being packed away years ago. I read it and inside was another entry." She opened the book she had
been holding and began reading.
"The time is now, the time of destruction, the time when chaos will reign. It all begins with the
children."
When she finished, Tanya asked the fateful question, "Do you recognize the handwriting"
Suddenly a very familiar voice came from behind them; "It's mine."
Eight voices blended as one, "BUFFY!!"
*~*~*~*
They had all turned to see Buffy comfortably wrapped in Angel's arms, looking very at home with the
position.
"You're alive!" cried Xander.
From Angel came the phrase that brought them back to earth, "Not exactly." He looked at Buffy and
taunted, "Someone's been a bad girl." He punctuated this with a firm but passionate kiss.
Then appeared that pout that enticed him to no end. "Spoil my fun."
"They were boring me. I wanted a challenge. It was becoming way too easy. Even you have to admit
that." By then she had turned and circled her arms around his waist.
The group was watching in horror as they realized that their Buffy had not only died, she had turned.
"You do have a point, my love, but still, when we get home you will be punished accordingly." He
taunted wickedly.
A rather delighted twinkle lit in her eyes as she kissed him, "Hmm, I can hardly wait. But first,
Mommy dearest, we came for you." She had turned to Joyce and Hank who were still reeling from the
realization that not only was it their daughter and her lover in front of them, but their little girl was
one of them now.
"Buffy, no!!!" came the phrase many times.
Giles calmly interjected, "Buffy, why do you want your mother?"
"Why, I'm going to kill her of course." She cheerfully replied. Her lover just grinned. "We can't have
you running around giving birth to another Slayer now can we?" Joyce didn't look surprised.
"Yes, I thought you knew. It dawned on me that our entire family had some connection to the Council
when I saw the photos a few years back. You see, my children asked about you, so, being the
indulgent mother that I am, I naturally needed some pictures." Her mother paled at this.
Everyone in the room was staring at her, including Angelus; "You've been keeping secrets again,
sweetheart."
"No time, lover, we need to take mother." She turned to her parents, and then to Angel, "Maybe we
should take them both? There are two young ones at home eager to meet them." She turned back to
Joyce and Hank. "Would you like to meet your grandchildren?"
Tanya leapt from her chair to face down this woman unknown to her, "Just who do you think you are
treating them like that?" she shouted.
Both Buffy and Angel put on their game faces and growled at the mouthy chit, "You must be the new
Slayer. You're so behind in the information department. You bore me, I think I'll kill you. But first,
I'll introduce myself, just to make things interesting. I'm the vamp formally known as Buffy Summers,
Slayer. I'm now known as the 'ultimate evil, once being the ultimate good', does that clear it up for
you, sweetie, now we fight." And on that note the former Slayer delivered a swift punch to Tanya's
jaw that knocked her off her feet. She came up punching any area she could reach, but to no avail,
the former Slayer was too strong.
It was not long after that Willow spotted the faint light shimmering around Buffy. My God, she's
surrounded by a magic circle. Willow had learned how to collapse such things a year ago. She did so
now, with the realization that the part of Buffy thatwas protected the most, was her weak spot.
"Tanya, go for her stomach, it's her weakness!" shouted Willow.
"NO!" cried Angel, as Tanya delivered a swift blow to Buffy's weak point. He was too late to reach
her, she was already on the floor in agony. Angel turned his fierce face to Tanya who was slowly
backing away from the livid vampire. He wrestled her to the ground and using some of the power
Buffy had taught him only months earlier, he placed upon her the pain his beloved felt, times three.
Soon the girl's screams were deafening. He knocked her out, it was distracting.
The slayerettes had gathered around their former friend wondering what was happening when blood
started staining the Lycra pants she had been wearing. They received growls for their concern.
"Get away from her!" Angel snarled, while gently cradling her in his arms. "What do I do?" he asked
his partner.
"The child is gone, already its presence has left my body. There is nothing that can be done there, but
I need you to help me." She quietly replied.
"The Transfer?" he asked, apparently unsure.
Oh, dear. Giles thought, I've heard of this. The transfer of the unrestricted power of ultimate evil
from one form to another for a short period of time. Seeing the look on Willow's face, he surmised
that she also knew of the Transfer.
"Hold out your hand and picture what I've told you before when we did this." Buffy rasped weakly. He
did so and in her hand appeared a ball of red light that disappeared when she brought their hands
together.
Angel then placed his hand above the area causing his love's pain, and to add extra revenge,
transferred all of her injuries to the still unconscious Tanya. She's not going to have a clue what hit
her when she wakes up. He thought with bitter satisfaction.. He then picked up the now sleeping
Buffy and started out the door, past the startled crowd. He quickly turned to her parents, "I'll be
back for you."
*~*~*~*
"Oh, what's happened to my little girl?" Joyce cried out. She turned to her husband for comfort.
Xander broke in bitterly, "Well, it's nice to know some things haven't changed."
"What's that supposed to mean Xander Harris?" his wife spoke firmly.
"Oh, come on, Cordy, you know what I mean, after all this time, good or evil, those two are together
for the duration. Man, even when she was the good guy and he was the bad guy, she still loved him."
This caused Willow to do some serious thinking.
Oz, quiet until now, expressed his thoughts. "Uh, what did Buffy mean about her family and pictures
and stuff?" he asked the couple still in their own little world of grief.
Joyce turned around and answered the question, "We lost another child just before Buffy was born,
our first daughter, Melissa, also bore the mark that Buffy did before she had it removed. This next
child may also be a Slayer, she was right when she said it was a girl, we were told earlier this morning."
That's it! Willow realized. "Hey, everyone, listen up. I think I know what we have to do. Now that
we know who we're fighting, the rest of the prophecy falls into place. Listen to this:
From love will rise the ultimate evil,
Once being the ultimate good.
"This represents Buffy the vampire slayer being the vampire as a result of Angelus, the one that loved
her at all cost, who would do anything to make her his once more."
When the Slayer is divided,
Chaos will reign upon the world.
"This is the time when Buffy died at the hands of the Master when her soul divided to support both
her and the newly activated Slayer when Buffy was revived."
In this time will come the chosen two,
Born of love and hate, good and evil,
"Buffy said herself that she had children that she wanted you to meet. Her children, physically, from
she who is both good and evil, who loves and hates, which is also Buffy."
Only if those who sired them, are
Defeated by what created them,
Will the destruction be no more.
"This is the harder part. We know that what created them was love, so that will destroy them, no,
wait, restore them to good, the spell!, that's it! The spell of restoration! If we can restore Buffy's
soul, she can take it from there!" Willow cried enthusiastically.
"Whoa, hang on a sec there Will. Why Buffy?" Xander commented.
"I do believe that Willow is referring to the power that Buffy, as a vampire, wields. As both vampire
and Slayer, the combined power extends from the physical, to the spiritual, meaning that she could
most likely restore all of their souls if she so desired." Giles explained.
"No." argued Jenny. "It can't be done. Buffy now realizes that Willow is stronger than she used to
be and she will accordingly focus her own power. Plus, the phrase from the foretelling: Only if those
who sired them, we're not talking sire in the demonic sense, we're talking literal. And that means"
"Angelus." The name was breathed from many mouths.
Jenny Giles continued, "If we turn him, he can get close enough to take her power and because of the
powerful bond between them, can overcome her with her creatorhis love, although a more pure version
than what made her." She paused when they heard a groan from the now awake Slayer.
"Oh, God, what did that bastard do to me?" Tanya groaned louder.
Willow could still feel magic in the room. "Oh, no, there's still a great deal of magic lingering, I do
believe that someone exacted a little revenge. It's probably a transference of pain, so you'll to just
wait it out with lots of Aspirin."
"You mean that what she's going through is what Buffy would have gone through?" Joyce whispered.
"Well, I don't think so. Knowing Angelus, he probably increased it, make it worse." Came Willow's
quick answer, "Not that she's Buffy anymore."
"Uh, Will, knowing Angel, he would have tortured her for a long time, but was obviously worried about
Buffy. That guy has become even more protective of vampire Buffy, than the soulful Angel was of
slayer Buffy. Which kinda brings me to the conclusion that, his revenge would be more sweet to him,
if he was killing this Slayer right under our noses while he's busy attending Buffy." Came Xander's
strangely logical conclusion.
Giles made up his mind, "We'd better get her to the hospital."
*~*~*~*
Angelus carefully laid the woman he carried on to their bed and wrapped her in a blanket. She was
beginning to wake. The blanket won't keep her warm, but she finds comfort in those little things. In
the past five years, he had learned more from her than just magic. She had a very endearing way of
killing. If he had been alive, he would have said that it gave him a warm feeling, but then, if I were
alive, I wouldn't enjoy it in the first place, he thought.
He knew when their children entered the room. "Daddy, what's wrong with Mommy?" came the small
feminine voice. Unlike their parents, these two would age, but only until they reached their mother's
age of death.
He replied to his daughter's concerned query angrily, "We visited some people, your mother's former
friends and family. They didn't appreciate it."
Suddenly, both his children put on their game faces; it was their turn for revenge. "Where are they?"
came the low, menacing growl from his son. He had Angel's enthusiasm for torture, and his sister had
her mother's love of the hunt. Together they were unstoppable.
Angel decided to let them have a go. "You might try the library that we told you about. I will have
Spike watch you from a distance in case you get in trouble all right, now be careful." With that, they
took off.
"They'll be fine without my spying on them, Angelus, but since I know that she'll never forgive you if
anything happened, and then probably set me alight, I'll go." Came Spike's lazy voice from the door.
He and Dru had only woken up an hour earlier. "But can I add in my own spot of torture and lend a
little hand?"
"Take your pick, do what I'd do. I need to look after Buffy. She should be all right in a couple of
hours, but I'm not too sure." As Spike exited, he lay down beside his beloved and wrapped his arms
around her as his thoughts drifted to that glorious night five years ago when he had made her his once
more
*~*~*~*
FIVE YEARS EARLIER
Buffy was patrolling the cemetery with a very bad flu virus that she couldn't shake. When suddenly a
voice came from behind her.
"Hello, lover." Not now, please. Not when she was at her worst. She knew that with no one around,
he would finally succeed in killing her. I should have listened to the others when they told me to stay
home.
Angelus grabbed her and thought, this is almost too easy, but it's probably the only time she can't
fight back. "You know what I want more than anything, Buff." At her blank look, he continued, "That's
you beside me, everywhere, in bed, during fights. Your technique is so unforgettable."
She flinched at the insulting compliment. "Another Slayer will come, Angel, if you're going to kill me,
just do it." she couldn't stand being helpless. She also knew that she still couldn't kill him. But the
next Slayer will.
He looked slightly disappointed at her apparent surrender, then brightened with the words, "Oh, I'm
going to do so much more than that." His head descended to her neck and she felt that sharp bite as
Angel had another taste of her sweetness and knew that she'd be his forever. When he was done, he
bit his wrist and brought it to her mouth, and said, "Angel may have loved who you are, but I love who
you will become. My dark Lady."
That was the last she heard before she died.
*~*~*~*
When she awoke, she had the worst hunger pangs she could remember. Chained to the bottom of the
bed she lay in, was a teenage boy she knew from school. She could feel his fear and her not beating
heart sang. She gently got up, and the boy noticing her, spoke, "You're Buffy, right? Everyone's out
looking for you. Do you think you could get me outta here before that creepy guy comes back?"
To the man watching her from the doorway, she looked ever the predator. She slowly crawled to the
bottom of the bed with a delighted smile on her face that appeared to increase the boy's fear. The
man in the doorway looked on jealously as she crawled into the boy's lap and started kissing him. On
the mouth, on the chin, all over his face, and to the man's delight, finally on the neck. Then she bit
him with a ferocity that only a very hungry vampire could muster. Unless of course you delighted in
pain.. "Mmm, lust, sooo good." She whispered as she licked her bloodstained lips.
When she was finished with her meal, she turned to the man and gave him a lustful grin. "Now what
exactly did he mean by that missing crack? Hmm? Did you take me home, lover? Not letting people
know what I am? Someone's been a very naughty boywhat should we do about that?" she asked as
she pulled him toward the bed she had recently vacated.
She bit his earlobe with her still lowered fangs, causing Angelus pain. He roughly shoved her against
the wall and kissed her with all the ferocity that had been building in anticipation of this blessed
moment. She gave an enthusiastic laugh as she wrapped her legs around his waist and ripped open his
shirt
Drusilla chose that moment to walk in on them. Seeing the couple, she turned, and called, "Oooh, Spike
our sister is awake," she paused and felt that moment of delightful pain that accompanied her visions,
she turned back in full glorious vamp-mode and said joyfully as Spike walked in, "and she is BAD ."
*~*~*~*
After finally tracking the group down, the four-year-old twin boy and girl walked down the hospital
corridor, hand-in-hand, looking ever the helpless children in need of care. The boy looked at his
sister. Daddy is right, you're almost as devious as Mommy, he telegraphed to her.
Why, thank you, I try. She mentally giggled.
The two children, looking very sad indeed, were spotted by the group waiting for news on the Slayer.
Joyce, the most maternal, stood up and walked over to them.
"Hey, are you two all right? My name is Joyce. What are your names? Are your parents around?" she
couldn't help but feel concerned for the two who looked so sad.
The little girl took it from there. "My name is Angela, and this is my brother, Billy. Our Daddy is
with our Mommy. This mean lady hurt her. That made Daddy sad, and now our whole family is sad,
even our aunty and uncle. We don't like it when they're sad."
Get on with it Angela, Billy projected his thoughts.
Okay, okay, "Did you know that Billy was named after our uncle?" the cute little girl had the
entire group of slayerettes entranced. She was adorable. "And I was named after someone too." She
indicated to Joyce to sit down next to her so that she could whisper in her ear. She did so. Angela
turned so that no one could see her face as she whispered to her grandmother, but still loud enough
for the others to hear, "I was named after my Daddy, his name was Angel." With that word she bit
down angrily on Joyce's neck and quickly depleted her life forces.
The others were all too shocked to move. A familiar voice came from behind them, "Lord, I cannot
get over how much she is like your mother." Came Spike's proud laugh. "She also takes after your aunt
Dru."
"What can we say, Uncle Spike? We learned from the best." Billy grinned.
The slayerettes looked on in abject horror as Angela pouted, "That was almost too easy. Where was
the revenge for what they did to Mommy?"
"Here." Spike cried, as the group was suddenly surrounded by twenty-three vampires. "Well people,
looks like you're coming with us." He stated as the vampires roughly shoved the seven remaining people
into the truck waiting outside.
"Oooh, wait Uncle. I want to do something first," cried Angela, as she turned back to her fallen
grandmother and bit her own wrist and quickly fed her the resulting blood. Spike picked up the body
when she laughed, "A 'get well' present for Mommy."
*~*~*~*
BACK AT THE MANSION
The good guys were being chained to various places around the main room as the little girl came skipping
in with a happy smile and a, "Daaaadddddddddyyyyy! We're hooooommmmee!"
Her father rushed out with a smile on his face when he saw his family's handiwork, and one prone body
in particular. He turned to his daughter. "She was supposed to die, sweet pea." He gently scolded.
She replied in a way that always got her what she wanted, that endearing pout she inherited from her
mother, "But Daddy, Mommy needs a 'get well' present."
With this reminder, he turned to one of his minions, "Your Lady needs nourishment, she's rather fond
of the young lovers who go to the lookout. And no sampling!"
Suddenly, Drusilla came through a door behind them; "Sister is awake." She croons, as she leads Buffy
through the room. Angel and the twins rush over to help."Mommy, are you okay?" cried Billy.
It was Angela's turn, "Mommy, I brought you a present." She turned in the direction of the groaning
woman
who was now a vampire, "Hello Mother."
A few minutes after Joyce awoke, she realized what had happened. She looked toward those who were
once again her family, her real family. Her daughter, Buffy, who looked rather smug in the arms of
her lover, Angel. Her grandchildren, Billy and Angela, who looked pleased as punch at her handiwork,
and the two new additions, Spike and Drusilla.
Her next thought was that she was extremely hungry. Don't worry mother, food is on the way, came
Buffy's voice from inside her head. She then realized that her daughter had a link with all of her
family, and they with her.
Drusilla used that moment to express her delight, "Ooooh, goodie, everyone's here." She turned toward
her 'sister'. "Is it time to play?" she asked hopefully.
Buffy looked around the room, noticing that one face in particular was missing. "Not yet, Dru, that
BITCH isn't here." Angel took quick inventory of the crowd and snarled to Spike, "Where is she?'
Billy piped up worriedly, "Who are you talking about, Daddy? They're all that was there."
Spike replied, "She must have been the one they were waiting for in the hospital."
"Angel, you and Spike, go drag her out of bed. Oh, and while you're out, find some way to make sure
we have this lovely little group all to ourselves without everyone's worrying about them." Buffy stated
saucily. "Dru, let's have some fun."
"Don't have too much fun without me, lover." Angel warned.
*~*~*~*
All chained up, and all Xander Harris could think about was what happened to her? He couldn't believe
the change in his best friend.
"Sister, the bad boy wants to know why you're a BAD girl. Want me to show him?" Dru asked lightly.
"No, they always were a curious lot. I may as well tell them while Angel and Spike are out. But first,
LUNCH." She raved, as she spotted the three vamps that had gone to order take out. The live kind.
She asked her minions, "have you all eaten?" being a mother, she sometimes worried. Not often. At
their nods she continued, "Well, there are six, so give one to Mommy, one to my babies, one to Dru.
Angel and Spike will eat on the way, but leave one just in case, and toss me one of the guys and leave
another chained to my bed." The three did as asked. They knew what came next; they loved watching
their Lady giving a public 'SuckFest' as she put it. It meant that she was going to take her time.
While the others fed, she took her young man and led him to a nearby chair. He was rather scared,
and that wasn't what she wanted. "Sit." He did so, and then she straddled him, giving him a light kiss
on his temple. Her hands disappeared underneath the boy's shirt as she slowly touched every inch of
his chest, removed his shirt, ran her fingers through his hair, all while raining kisses all over his face.
The others, having finished their meal, watched with interest, but were disappointed when a growl from
the doorway indicated that a non-too-happy Angel had returned with Spike and HER.
The boy was too far gone to feel the sharp sting as Buffy sunk her fangs into his neck and gently
drained him of his blood. She then tossed him to a vamp to dispose of. Then turned to Angel.
"Couldn't you have stayed out a bit longer, I wanted to play with my food." She pouted.
"The only one you will be playing with in that respect, lover, is me." He tossed at her while dragging
his captive toward an empty set of chains.
The still recovering Slayer was coming around after being knocked out by Angel. The fact that in her
current condition, she couldn't fight Buffy, annoyed the vampire. Her lover and her children had both
gotten some revenge, Spike too, to some extent, it was her turn, soon. But first
"I guess since I told my precious Scooby Gang that I would clue them in, I'd better," she said to
Angel, then turned toward the group in question and began speaking
*~*~*~*
ALMOST FIVE YEARS EARLIER
Lying naked in the bed she was occupying with an extremely naked and happy Angelus, she asked the
question that had been plaguing her from dead-day one.
"Angel?" she turned to the exhausted vampire, "How much does the person I used to be effect who I
am now?" she murmured.
He rolled on top of her and planted a kiss on her neck before answering her question. "I guess you
could say that your demon brings out your dark side. The stronger you are as a human is equally
matched with your dark side. You keep all of your feelings like love, greed, obsession, and have them
enhanced on a much blacker scale. With you, well, You love me in a more dangerous, less pure way
don't you?" she grinned wickedly. He chuckled. "I see that you do. Now moving on, as you were the
Slayer, the strength from that will combine with that of our kind and in time you will be able to match
your strength with the elements and pretty much do what you like with them if you train hard enough"
"and that's what I did." She smiled at the one who's lap she was sitting in. During her tale she had
taken to sitting in Angel's lap and running her fingers lazily over his chest.
