The Club Road Race Championship takes place over a series of 9 races throughout the year consisting of 3 short races (10k or less), 3 medium (10k—10 miles) and 3 long (more than 10 miles).

The first Traveller to finish in each event scores 10 points, the second 9 etc. At the end of the year, the Champion is the person who scores the most points. Up to 6 of the nominated events can count towards the Championship. These must include 1 short, 1 medium and 1 long race, together with up to 3 of the other nominated races.

Eyam Half Marathon —Sunday 17 May 2009

Eyam half marathon was the second race in the Club Road Race championship. Bridget Coomber was the first Traveller to finish and also winner of the ladies race in an excellent time of 1:32:48. Well done Bridget!

Stewart Yates was first man home from the Travellers in 1:39:29, just ahead of Tony Sharpe and George Russell. The Eyam course, whilst one of the most scenic is what race organisers often describe as ‘undulating and challenging’, so well done to all who took part! 

Wakefield 10k—Sunday 5 April 2009

The Club Road Race championship for 2009/10 got underway with the Wakefield 10k being the first in the 9 race series. There was a good turn out from the Travellers with 16 runners taking part. Ross McClelland was the first Traveller home finishing in 15th position in an excellent time of 35 minutes 26 seconds. Lesley Leggett was our first lady finisher in 42.49.

Eccup 10 —Sunday 12 July 2009

The Travellers were out in strength at the Eccup 10, with 8 runners competing. Mark Legget was first Traveller home, finishing in 24th position in an excellent time of 63.52. Lesley Leggett was first lady home in 77th position in 71.03. Results are listed below
