W. G. Grace
The champion of nineteenth century cricket was also a tea-drinking colossus.
His drink of choice was Earl Grey, though he would accept Lady Grey, if the
Earl were unavailable. Contempory reports suggest he imbibed an average of
eight pints a day, though when he was out on the razzle, he was often reported
to drink more than twenty pints in an evening. These quantities are even more
incredible when one considers he always drank through a straw for fear of
dribbling down his beard.
