BACKGROUND

Persatuan Anak-anak Yatim dan Ibu Tunggal Kampung Medan is located in Taman Sri Medan, Petaling Jaya. As an orphan herself, Hajah Kamariah binti Lasim was determined to setup such shelter since young. Her wish come true when she open up her own home in Taman Sri Medan to orphans and also single mother. The house is already 30 years old. This home, start with 5 children. Now, in 2015 there is 36 children. 5 of them are boys and 31 of them are girls. The age of the children there are between 7 until 17 years old. The house is also registered with the Perbadanan Kebajikan Masyarakat (PBM).

Since then and until now, Hajah Kamariah was the only person who handle all the affairs of the children. Moreover, Hajah Kamariah is also taking care of the single mothers. Eventhough, they are not living together with the children, the single mothers will come and cook for the children. Right now in 2015, the numbers of single mothers are 80 people.
