you might be interested to know what i take with me on a typical ride...

- burgundy cannondale ST-700 touring bike, bought
  in 1984 from maple cyclery in dundas, ontario
- 2 bottles of water
- rack with a tie-down made from an old inner tube
- depending on the weather, i start the ride wearing:
  - helmet (naturally)
  - tee shirt
  - shorts
  - socks
  - sneakers
  - riding gloves
- backpack:
  - map, paper, and pen
  - bike lock, cell phone, wallet
  - banana pants (yellow k-way rain pants)
  - rain jacket
  - baseball cap
  - toiletries
  - tool kit (not the most efficient assortment):
    - pump
    - inner tube
    - tire levers
    - allen wrenches
    - pliers
    - 8 mm box wrench
    - two pocket knives
      - one with a phillips screwdriver
      - the other with a large slot screwdriver
    - container with bolts and other little parts
    - spare toe strap
    - front and rear lights
