Bridal Showers

May 1999 - Combined Bridal Shower Brunch for five engaged women from church, hosted by Fran.  Her husband made some incredible crepes.  The games were fun and so were the people!  We loved the basket full of kitchen goodies and the exhortations.

Nov 1999  - Bridal Shower with a Food theme thrown by Cecille and Tiffany at Cecille's parents' house.  It was a happy reunion with distant (location-wise) friends and Manny's aunts and mom went as well.  Manny showed up at the end as a surprise.  Manny's mom was the speaker.

Jan 2000 - Bridal Shower thrown by Mona with a Hawaiian theme.  Manny's family is very generous.  JoEllen, a Hernandez family friend who baked the cake for our wedding, made this beautiful cake with a Hawaiian beach and volcano on it.  

The (Sleepless) Week Before the Wedding...

Feb 14 2000  Happy Valentine's Day!  We obtained our marriage license in Orange County - cutting it a little close!

Feb 15 2000 Hair trial with the salon manager.  

Feb 16-17 2000  Put together programs and favors with lots of help from la familia.  Ironed the dress (quite a task).  Practiced waltzing.

Feb 18 2000  Manicure/Pedicure (gift from Mona) in the morning.  Wedding Rehearsal at the chapel.  Rehearsal dinner hosted by Manny's parents at the El Torito banquet room.   

That night I went to bed at about 1:30am and woke up at about 5am, ready to go.  I was so excited!  This was a picture Cecille took of me contemplating marriage the night before.
