DEMO AT WEST PORT MIDDLE SCHOOL START TIME:1:30-ENDING 3:00

Members began arriving shortly befoore the demo was to begin, items were placed on tables and tapestrys were hung on the walls. Everyone donned their garb and pesented theirselves in full personna. The students began to file into the gym right on schedule. All of the SCA members waited patiently for our introduction by the principal.

The SCA was introduced and the floor was given over to Master Iefan who opened with the basic overview of the SCA, its goals and intricacies and wowed the crowd with his sword and knowledge of weapons. The teachers and principal was also wowed by the Garb he wore. Students were then treated to a fighting demo by Travis and Lee, in which Travis graciously allowed Lee to emerg the victor. The crowd enjoyed this tremendously.

Master Iefan then talked about the middle ages as an era, comparing those times to these modern ones and explained the difference in society and lifestyle between the two. There was also a young juggler there but I was unable to abtain his name. Wolfmom then explained to the studends that if not for modern medicine she would not be alive today. This seem to impact the studends as well. Master Subastan(spelling?) also gave a brief talk on Herardry. All in all a good show, in retrospect, some teachers exclaimed their joy with the presentation, asking only that there be more time next year for more hands on with the students.

Lets give a big hand to those who helped with the demo. Taz, Megan, Lee, Travis, Wolfmom, Master Iefan,
Master Subastan and Lady Lilly and the young unknown juggler.

Gulf Wars Pity Party March 18-20

Thanks to Lord Olaf and Lady Lillian there was nothing to pout about on this this weekend.
There was food overflowing the tables, if you didn't get enough food it was your own fault. There was a archery match and fighting for both adults and children. There was even a skillet tossing match! On the womens side Lady Lilly won on the mens it was Lee.
Both were crowned by HL Takara with the pink fluffy crown. Wonder who will wear it next year? There was the roasting of Anstiorains(spelling?) We even had an out of town vistor drop in and say hello. Thanks to all who attended.Taz, Olaf, Lilly, Wolfmom, JTK, Magnus, Takara, Janet, Josh, Dave, Andra, Jen and Justin and of course our vistor!Photos soon
