On the third Tuesday each month at 2.00pm The Forum meets. We have many and varied speakers and all are welcome to join these gatherings. We also have our Craft Circle on the first and third Thursday each month. This is a group of people involved in lots of different projects and their work culminates twice a year at our Spring Fair and Christmas Fair when we raise funds by selling what has been made. It is also an opportunity for a chat with other people.
The 28th Flower Festival
Amlwch English Methodist Church is justifiably proud of its reputation for putting on an exceptionally good Flower Festival. Visitors come from all over the island and beyond to see it. Posters were sent out to every caravan and camping site on the island. This year, as usual, we invited leading flower arrangers from Anglesey to turn our church into a magnificent expression in flowers. Our small building with plain glass windows provides an excellent setting for the displays and the flower arrangement in front of the pulpit always attracts praise. The theme for 2008 was "Gardener's World". The floral displays depicted scenes such as the Garden of Eden and the Garden of Gethsemane as well as secular ones. The Flower Festival was held on 24th, 25th, 26th and 27th July 2008. As usual there was a "Songs of Praise" on the Sunday evening.
This year the flowers were more like those you see in many gardens. But they spoke very clearly to one. Mrs Pat Scarrett who always sets out the front display showed a wonderful garden and in the windows above the display she placed some beautiful pure white flowers depicting the clouds drifting by. It was lovely to see.
