1. ABDUL REHMAN DAKRI – Chairman, Rumah Aman

Abdul Rehman Dakri attended Dedza Secondary School in Malawi, Africa. At the age of 16 he went to England to work in a metal factory. A year later he started a textile company producing fabric and garment called A. Dakri Co. Ltd., run by the Dakri family. In 2003, he came to Malaysia to retire under Malaysia's My Second Home Programme. In Malaysia, he realised his long time dream of opening an orphanage for poor children. Thus, Rumah Aman was set up in 2005. He is the founder and also a Director of Rumah Aman (Shah Alam), the organisation that manages the orphanage and welfare home. He oversees the whole operations of Rumah Aman and is in charge of raising funds for the home. Prior coming to Malaysia, he was active in community work and was a volunteer for Garden of Peace, a charity organisation in Ilford, East London that manages a cemetery for the Muslims.

2. EMA SYARINA SHAHARANI – Admin & Finance

Ema Syarina Shaharani attended Matriculation Program for Accountancy under the Malaysian Ministry of Education in 1999. She holds a degree in Public Management from Universiti Utara Malaysia, Sintok Kedah. She joined Rumah Aman in 2005 as a teacher. In July 2013, she was appointed as an administrator. She is presently in charge of Rumah Aman 2 Finance and Human Resource Department.

2. EMA SYARINA SHAHARANI – Admin & Finance

Ema Syarina Shaharani attended Matriculation Program for Accountancy under the Malaysian Ministry of Education in 1999. She holds a degree in Public Management from Universiti Utara Malaysia, Sintok Kedah. She joined Rumah Aman in 2005 as a teacher. In July 2013, she was appointed as an administrator. She is presently in charge of Rumah Aman 2 Finance and Human Resource Department.

3. KHALID SHAH – Head of Student Affairs

Khalid Shah received his education in Penang Free School. He was a journalist with the national language newspaper, Utusan Melayu (M) Berhad for 22 years. In 2003 he resigned and left for South Africa to do community work for the poor. He co-founded Ikhlassi Niyyah Training Institute in Mitchells Plain, Cape Town, South Africa. The Institute provided free education and life skills training for street children. In 2004, he came back to Malaysia and joined Rumah Aman in 2005.

4. SHANTAN MENON – Head of Education

Encik Shantan Menon PPN, who holds a BA from Australia and a Masters in Language Studies from United Kingdom has vast knowledge and experience in the education industry. Mr. Menon, 69, started his teaching career as an English teacher in various government schools around Selangor before leaving the government service after 25 years to join Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) as an English lecturer, and then as Head of English Department of Imperia Institute of Technology, Petaling Jaya in 2003. He then joined the Stamford English Language Centre in 2004 holding the same post, and in 2006 as consultant to its Corporate Training Program. Prior to joining Rumah Aman in November 2014, he was the Head of English Language Department of MAHSA University where he was responsible for starting the English Language Department in the university. He was with MAHSA from 2007 to 2011.

5. EKA NATASHA AIDALENA SAFRI WALDI – Warden Rumah Aman Shah Alam

Eka Natasha joined Rumah Aman Shah Alam on 7th. December 2014. She hails from Kuching, the capital city of Sarawak, and attended SMK Agama Matang, a boarding school there. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Counselling from University Malaya. Prior to joning Rumah Aman, she taught at a rehabilitation centre of the Welfare Department, Sekolah Tunas Bakti, Kuching, and also attended a three months professional training as a Counsellor at the Ministry of Defence (Mindef).

6. NURULUNAIS MD ZAKI – Warden Rumah Aman Saujana Utama

Nurulunais attended Sekolah Menengah Agama Sultan Azlan Shah, Seri Iskandar Perak. She holds a Bachelor in Islamic Studies (Dakwah) with Honours from University of Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) Terengganu. She joined Rumah Aman 2 on December 7th. 2014. Prior to this, she was teaching secondary students in Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Redang Panjang and Sekolah Menengah Agama Syubbaniah. She also had a short stint as an Industrial Trainee at Rumah Seri Kenangan, Taiping, Perak.

7. MOHAMED RADZI HASHIM – Educator

Ustaz Mohamed Radzi bin Hashim has a Diploma in Arabic Language from the Institute of Arabic Language Studies and Usuluddin Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt. He worked as a Religious Teacher at At-Taqwa School, a private Intergrated Islamic School in Kuala Lumpur. He joined Rumah Aman in 2006 and is now the Senior Teacher for Islamic Studies. He is also in charge of the secondary school children at Rumah Aman 2.

8. NUR FATIMAH MOHAMED RASHIDI – Educator

Nur Fatimah Mohamed Rashidi is the English teacher in Rumah Aman 2. She joined Rumah Aman 2 in January 2014. Nur Fatimah went to MARA Junior Science College (MRSM) Tun Ghafar Baba, Jasin Melaka. She graduated with a Diploma in Occupational Therapy from University Technology of MARA (UiTM). Her working experience includes teaching at Q’dees Kindergarten, Kumon English tutor and bookshop supervisor. Besides teaching, she also gives home services on occupational therapy. She is also actively involved in training children to sing Qasidahs.

9. NUR FARIHAH MOHAMED RASHIDI – Educator

Nur Farihah Mohamed Rashidi is the Science teacher in Rumah Aman 2. She studied at Kolej Matrikulasi Pahang pursuing a one year program in biological science. She joined Rumah Aman in March 2014. Besides teaching, she is actively involved in event management such as KL International Book Fair and organising Qasidah performances. Her working experiences includes advertising, administration and education.

10. NORIYANA BINTI ABD RAHIM– Educator

Noriyana Abdul Rahim attended Sekolah Menengah Sains Muar, Johor. She has a Diploma in Building from MARA Institute of Technology. Her first job was in 1996 as a Contract Assistant. She was an educator at Smart Reader Kids for 3 years. She joined Rumah Aman since March 2014 as a pre-school and Bahasa Malaysia teacher at Rumah Aman 2 and is currently attending Montessori training.

11. SHAHIDATUL SAFRA ELYNA – Educator

Shahidatul Safra Elyna attended Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Munshi Abdullah, Melaka. She joined Rumah Aman 2 on November 1st. 2014. Come this new school year of 2015, she will be teaching Mathematics to both primary and secondary children. Elyna has a Diploma in Foodservice and Management from University Technology of MARA (UiTM) Dungun, Terengganu and Bachelor of Science (Hons) Foodservice and Management from UiTM Puncak Alam, Selangor. Her working experience includes being tutor at Management and Science University (MSU) teaching Nutrition, Food Safety and Food Costing for about 2 years and then as a Catering Officer in Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Klang, Selangor for a year. She then became Administration Officer at Malaysian Qualification Agency for a year.
