The Fairies by Suze Scalora

This is an entertaining photo essay presenting color-drenched photographs of 16 fairies observed in various leafy, far-flung locales. Adopting the persona of a scientist bent on completing a predecessor’s 19th century field guide, Scalora provides travel notes & background. Each ethereal being is carefully classified by its common name, other names, sighting date & location, & history. For fellow fairy fanciers, peak sighting seasons & lures are also provided. The glossy full-color photographs were created using live models, with wings constructed from a variety of materials. Lushly hued (each of the fairies here is associated with a color), they evoke a shadowy, elusive realm hidden, usually, within our own; readers will be beguiled by the mystery & magic here. Whether you’re a believer or not, the prints are truly beautiful, & Scalora’s passionate, detailed descriptions will at least make you want to consider the possibility that these diminutive creatures exist. This one of the most beautifully designed & photographically rich books that has emerged in a long time. You will be enjoying The Fairies for many generations. Hardcover 40 page picture bookually derived from psychic abilities that are a part of psychic, occult and religious lore. This book offers techniques that really work, providing the reader with dozens of examples and a How-To Training Course which takes the subject out of its mystical surroundings and places it in a scientific and practical framework. Paperback, 140 pages.

The Gardener Collection by Gerald B. Gardner

These Gardner sets are very difficult to come by & are usually out of print. They are not available at present from Amazon or Barnes & Noble. We do have a limited supply. This set is a wonderful introduction to Gerald Gardner, the 'Grand Old Man' of Witchcraft. It includes his last two books and a CD of selected interviews with Gardner, as well as songs & chants performed by Gardner & Patricia Crowther. Whatever one may feel about Gerald Gardner, all Witches owe him a debt of gratitude; without him it is quite possible that the Craft would have just faded away. It was he who had the courage -- and it did take a considerable amount of courage in those days -- to stand up and be recognized. His first factual book on the Craft, Witchcraft Today, originally published in 1954, is a classic in that it was the first book about Witchcraft avowedly written by a Witch. That this book should be reprinted is great news, for it belongs on the bookshelf of every Witch and every person in any way interested in the vast field of the occult, metaphysics and comparative religion. Gardner’s last book, The Meaning of Witchcraft, was first published in 1959 and became the prototype of many later books on this subject. Its reappearance is therefore providential in that a whole new generation of Witches & Pagans will be able to familiarize themselves with Gardner’s original views and knowledge of the Old Religion. Gardner’s easy style of writing -- a fusion of antiquary, scholar and detective with a bit of eccentricity thrown in for good measure -- makes this book an illuminating and fascinating survey of Witchcraft from ancient and Medieval times, to its renaissance in the present day. This is definitely a set no Witch can be without! Both books paperback, 158 pages; 286 pages plus CD. The entire set is wrapped in plastic.

Qabalistic Symbolism by Gareth Knight

'A Practical Guide to Qabalistic Symbolism' sets the standard for esoteric textbooks and is an important reference work for students of the magical tradition. In paperback for the first time, this edition contains a new Preface by the author and comprises the two volumes first published in 1965. Gareth Knight draws from many Western esoteric schools, presenting his own pragmatic approach for students who wish to use Qabalistc symbolism as a means to explore fields of consciousness beyond the physical. Volume One compares the Western Mystery Tradition to Eastern systems of yoga and analyzes the Tree of Life in complete detail. Volume Two gives the most comprehensive analysis ever published of the twenty-two "Paths of Concealed Glory" that connect the spheres of the Tree of Life, taking into account Hebrew letters, astrological signs and the tarot's major arcana. A comprehensive section on the tarot, traces the history of its design and the varying systems of correspondences with the Tree of Life. Knight sheds new light on the neglected minor arcana cards and the little understood function of the aces and the sixteen court cards. Each volume contains extensive chapters on practical methods of working the Tree. Paperback, 321 pages.
