Wonderful Japanese Voice

Xelloss's seiyuu (japanese voice actor) is Ishida Akira. He's extremely talented and is my favorite male voice actor. I absolutely LOVE his voice, and he's a wonderful actor. He truly brings Xelloss to life. Xelloss is not an easy character to play, because a slightly off performance can change him from being very cool to very annoying very quickly. Ishida Akira plays Xelloss perfectly. He makes him so.. lovable. ^^;; His voice can change from adorable and cute to evil and cold. And Xelloss' image songs 'But But But' and 'Secret - Dare ka no message' which was sung my Ishida Akira, has become my favorite song of all times, I suggest you try to get it either online or buy the CD. Akira has done roles such as Seiya in Nurse Angel Ririka SOS, Fish Eye from Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon SuperS, and Kaworu from Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Disgusting English Voice

Xelloss (or should I say Xellos? :P) is played by David Moo in the dub.. and Lord Ruby Eye, he's the worst voice I have EVER heard. In Slayers, or actually, in all anime, bad to the point that I fell off a chair just listening to him. I'm not kidding you! David Moo's awful performance as Xelloss has "earned" him the place of my least favorite dub actor ever. O.O;; David Moo's voice doesn't suit him one bit and makes Xelloss come off as just really annoying, slimy, dorky, and stupid. Kinda like a Used Car Salesman. He has made me hate all dubbed films. I mean, I have heard of bad dubbings before, but the dubbed voice of Xelloss, is, by far, THE worst in all anime history!!! I myself didn't know about this until I went online and found all the sound clips. You see, I moved to a new place, and the TV cable don't work too well, so I found this video rental store, and found Slayers. Unfortunatly, they only have the dubbed version. When I first watched it, I thought Xelloss was suppose to sound like that(I know, I know, I'm a disgrace). Good thing I didn't care about it that much at first and fell in love with Xelloss dispite the hideous voice.

If you have only watched the dubbed version, I highly recomend to get the subtitled ones. It reall DOES make a difference. So one advise to everyone who are thinking of watching Slayers, SUBBED NOT DUBBED!!! David Moo, seriously, sucks! :P But that's just my opinion, I know some people who actually LIKE his dub voice (O_o), still I have to say, get the sub ones, it's over all quality is so much better. Or if you can, you can try both and see which version you like more.
