Name

Xelloss's first name can be spelled many different ways. Xelloss is the most correct in English, and is the way it appears on things like merchandise. Software Sculptors uses Xellos. But I usually write his name in Katakana, or Romaji, since I am asian, and believe that's the way it was meant to be writen (and besides, it's cool that way ^^). The romaji for his name spell literally, "Ze" "Ro" "Su" and the Katakana version look like this:

Ze -- Ro -- Su

Some different (and sometimes humorous) ways of romanizing his name are:

Xelloss (official)
Xellos (SS)
Xelos
Xeloss
Xerross
Xerros
Xeros
Xeross
Zelloss
Zellos
Zelos
Zeloss
Zerross
Zerros
Zeros
Zeross

Xelloss's last name was never officaly declared, Mr. Hajime Kanzaka has never said what is Xelloss' last name. But many fans seems to think that Metallium, assumably from his boss, Zelas Metallium, is his last name. There seems to be a debate on whether or not Xelloss has a last name. While Metallium is the second part of Zelas Metallium's name, it does not mean that Metallium is Xelloss' last name. Mazoku don't appear to even have last names. The only name given to the Trickster Priest is Xelloss and the name Xelloss Metallium has never been officaly accepted by the author. But, oh well, I guess since the fans has accepted Metallium as his last name, it might as well be. ^^;; (Please don't sue me, Mr. Kanzaka.) The spelling of this is basically undisputed though sometimes you'll see it with only one 'l'. And truly, I have seen so many Romaji verson of it, I don't know which one is the correct one. There's the Romaji spells "me-ta-ri-a-mu", "me-ta-ri-o-mu", "me-ta-ri-nu-mu", and "me-ta-ri-u-mu".

*UPDATE* Thanks to my friend Haruko - who speaks some Japanese, the correct romaji version of Metallium has been found. It is spelled as "ME-TA-RI-O-MU", and look like this:

Me -- Ta -- Ri -- O -- Mu

The other versions (below) are all wrong!!!!!

Xelloss Metallium is pronounced "Zeh-Lohs Meh-Ta-Li-Um", unless you want to say it with a thick japanese accent, in which case it's closer to "Zeh-Loh-Su Meh-Tah-Ri-A-Mu". Keep in mind that the Ls and Rs sound basically identical and that it's more a cross between an L and R than either (though, if you don't know how to make that sound, I'd say an L sound is closer to the right way).

If you really want to listen to what they sound like, click the spellings on top of the Katakana version of the name. (and yes, I AM obessed. Why else would I do so much reserch on just how the name sound like alone?!)
