February 23, 2005 - In a press conference that is happening while I type this, Sony Computer Entertainment of America is unveiling SOCOM 3: U.S. Navy Seals. Once again developed by Zipper Interactive and slated for American store shelves this fall, SOCOM 3 will now support the use of vehicles and boast levels that are six times larger than before. Locations this time around include Morocco, Poland, and Bangladesh, and players will be able to swim should they need to (makes sense for a game based on the Navy eh?). Additionally, the AI is severely improved (enemies take cover, shoot around corners, and use actual flanking techniques), the oft-requested checkpoints will be thoroughly available.

No other details are currently known, but our own Ed Lewis is at the press conference right now and will be back later in the day with more information. See you then.

Now GameSpot's story:

Sony announces SOCOM III
Zipper Interactive developing new team-based shooter sequel for fall release.

Sony has formally announced plans to release a third game in the popular SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs series this fall. The game, unsurprisingly called SOCOM III: U.S. Navy SEALs, will take place in new theaters of operation, contain improved artificial intelligence, and an all-new weapon attachment system that will let players customize their weapon loadouts even more than they could in the past.

SOCOM III will take place in Morocco, Poland, and Bangladesh. All-new streaming technology will be employed here, which is said to increase the size of the game's single-player maps by five or six times over what was seen in the previous SOCOM game. To help compensate for that size, single-player missions will have checkpoints, allowing you to save your game mid-mission. The missions will also have multiple paths to success.

The ability to swim is one of SOCOM III's new ability improvements. You'll also be able to operate vehicles, including humvees, light strike vehicles, technicals, T72 tanks, an SSCR assault boat, and a customized speed boat. Communicating with your AI-controlled team will be altered a bit--the game will now give you a context sensitive button that will command your team to move to a specific location, breach a door, and so on. This will be in addition to SOCOM II's already-robust AI control system. Speaking of the AI, it will see some improvements as well. Players' team AI should be better at assisting you, and the enemy AI will be better equipped to coordinate with one-another to form smarter attacks against your SEAL team. Weapon customization sounds like it could be a big part of SOCOM III. You'll have 31 weapons to choose from and 21 different attachments, making for over a thousand possibilities.

Sony and Zipper have revealed this information about SOCOM III's single-player component, but information about the game's online side has yet to be revealed. The game is currently on-track for a fall release on the PlayStation 2. GameSpot will have more on SOCOM III as it becomes available.

COMING SOON -=AMERICAS MOST WANTED=- CS cLAN!

Tuesday, November 30, 2004 (1:44pm)
Since I was so nicely asked to upade the news. I thought I would actually do it, so here i go.

So as you can tell =AMW= is down to a very limited amount of respectable players left. Which is all that is need to continue this great clan. Standing at an amazing 3 years now or coming to be almost that many years. As you can tell you will always find V.2 on so never fear as long as he keeps playing there will be someone to play with. (lol)
Yes it's true what you have heard. Sid is a daddy. Just when we all thought that he couldn't do it.(He does it!) CONGRATULATIONS Sid. You should all leave him a Congrats message on the forum one of these days.

So as you can tell this site is still unfinished. (I promise to finish it off one of these days) But Socom seems to be dieing down these days. With mostly new people playing each day or just the same annoying people that you've had to endure since day one. (Like sid..j/k). But if anyone is interested in joining just e-mail =AMW= or message someone online.

So for more news. Not to long ago a lady somewhere in Asia, after being paralyzed for 20 years. In front of reporters and camera crews finally decides to take her first steps after going through Stem Cell treatment. Ain't that some crazy stuff? Imagine the possibilities. Break your back one day and on thursday you could be back to work.

If you are a member of =AMW= right now and have not played in oh lets say months. Please let one of the remaining members know so i can either save your spot or finally take your spot off and leave it open.
We have also been playing with a fellow clan [sT.]. Game Battles record is 17-3. Pretty nice ain't it?

Not to mention another Useless Patch finally came out. That's what? Number 3 now. That seems to do absolutely nothing to the game what so ever. There is one thing that can be done. You can now sign onto the Beta Test Servers which amazingly the "New People" better known as "Newbs" or as you call the "Noobs" keep thinking that they are the "International Servers" and that they can play with se FrenCh! We'll we say se screw that!
Maybe Zipper Interactive will finally make a good game when they release Socom 3 ( Release date to be announced). They need to be more like the Killzone Developement Team and listen to their fans.

There for all of you that wanted me to update this thingy..lol. Just let me know what else you want me to put.
Oh and by the way.. Have you seen Stevie Wonders House?

Well im still working on the site as you can see. It'll be a while before I can get it to look nice since my PC starts to act funny when I run big programs like Photoshop, but it will get done.
We are recruiting very few people at this time. So if you would like to play with AMW please check us out at our home server Canada West 1 or message a member.
I going to try and finish the site and probably update more stuff on it later on. Like information about other games or really cool events that will be coming up. Such as the Japan GT Championship, which will be held at the California Speedway on December 18 & 19. If you would like some more information on it please visit www.JGTCUSA.net

GAME INFORMER NEWS 9/03/20
04
Sony announced today that they're going to be pushing out a new update for SOCOM II, which will address quite a few problems that the game has been suffering from lately.

First to be addressed will be the fact that some players have found ways to exploit and increase their stats among online rankings.  Also to be addressed with be the parameters for voting a player out of a session, fixing areas where players were getting outside of the map or inside objects, as well as some disconnect issues.

As an extra measure to deal with the ranking exploits, the game's ranking ladders will be reset for all players.
