Glastonbury Tor

Pictures of Glastonbury Tor are mostly taken from some distance. The size of the tor is such that it cannot be seen at all from almost anywhere near the town centre. The first three images here were scanned from old postcards some time ago. The "solo" shot of St. Michael's tower was taken by me in 1960. I also took one from the inside looking out, but have used a more up-to date scan in the fourth picture, as it gives a much better view.


A view from roughly the same spot as the previous black and white postcard - not much has changed.


This picture shows how the tor appears to rise abruptly from the plain below.
