About

I've liked Anime since I was about seven because I always went to Canada to visit some relatives during the summer. Back then Anime in the UK wasn't what it is today, but it was available in Canada. My first real experience of anime was Sailor Moon and everytime I went I watched it every day, even though it was only two episodes.

I've been drawing them for about as long, when we got sky I discoverred Sailor Moon on Fox Kids (now discontinued), I recorded the episodes and drew while the characters were moving. Then I tried using the pause button but the screen kept having grey lines over it so it was hard.

Then I had my first encounter with the Internet which allowed me to find still pictures and draw from them. I also saw many more anime, like Escaflowne, Gundam Wing, Pokemon, Digimon, Medabots, Cardcaptors, Yu-Gi-Oh and some more.

A lot of my experience with Anime comes from sky and the internet because it's not very big in the UK. There are only two, possibly three (haven't investigated the third yet), shops that sell manga and only two that sell the DVDs. Even so I've managed to accumulate around 100 volumes of manga. 17 of which came back from New York in their own private suitcase when I went there on holiday.

In the UK if you say Anime to anyone they'll go 'what?', say it to an art teacher os say Manga and they might know what you're talking about. The few that do know it instantly say, 'Oh, those Pokemon things'. Here they're just kids programs but it was brilliant in America. Nearly everyone new what they I was talking about. There were manga in every book store and so I came back with 17, 6 DNAngel volumes, the last volume to Real Bout High School, 3 Demon Diary manga, 4 Fruits Basket, 1 Tsubasa and two more that I can't remember right now.
