IMMUNOLOGICAL VARIATIONS IN THE FESTERING MOXIBUSTION TREATMENT OF BRONCHIAL
ASTHMA
The Festering Moxibustion Research group
(Clli County Hospital of TCM, Henan)
This article describes the festering moxibustion which was used for the
treatment of bronchial asthma, as well as the mechanism of its action. According
to the hypothesis, the serum IgE level of the patient with bronchial asthma is
elevated and produced in thymus-dependent (T) lymphocyte- Probably there is a
process of cellular immunity. We had determined the lymphocyte transformation
and the erythrocyte rosette forming cell in the se rum. The IgA. IgM. IgG. in
She serum were also measured. The result of the iymphocyte transformation was
shown in the test with significant change and the IgG. IgA. IgM. and ERFC. had
no significant changes before and after the treatment. In addition, we had
discussed the cellular immunity in association with the classification according
to the traditional Chinese medicine, age of the patient and the course of the
disease.
