ABNORMAL POSITION OF FAETUS CORRECTED BY MOXIBUSTION

Yu Yaocai, Shi Ling

(The Hospital of Heilongjiang College of TCM, Harbin)

50 cases of 'abnormal position of foetus' were observed in this report, which contained 13 cases of first birth and 37 cases of multiple birth women, 15-45 years of age, 27-35 weeks of gestational period, and the wombs being 25-36 cm high

Moxibustion was performed with warm moxa bars on both sides at point Zhiyin, dorsal position, needling once a day for fifteen minutes. The total rate of curation was 93.03% and the ineffective rate was 6.97%.

It has been proved that the effect of moxibustion at point Zhiyin for correcting 'abnormal position of foetus' is distinct. Most of the cases may be corrected after 1-5 times of treatment. This therapy is much available to all countries and nations in the world. It is safe and reliable to decrease the incidence of breech and transverse presentations. 28-34 weeks of gestational period is the best time for curation when earlier than 27 weeks (i.e. gestational period less than 27 weeks), it will fall into recurrence.

When patients possess the platypellic or reduced pelvis, being discovered earlier and getting treated on time, they would always gain a better curative effect.
