My Photos of
Natura Park
Punta Cana
Jan/Feb 2000
This is the Entrance to Natura Park- it's not  the 'grandest' looking but it is very nicely done. The rest of the resort is a flight of stairs down from the entrance/lobby area.
There are only 3 resorts together in this stretch of beach. Natura is to the right in this pic. Past it there is an undeveloped area with a long deserted stretch of beach for walking. The next resort on this side is about an hour's walk away. The seaweed is raked up into piles each morning and removed.
The layout of Natura is a U shape with the room buildings on the outside and the grounds in the middle. There are walkways with bridges, ponds and all kinds of vegetation. There is also wildlife (ducks, fish, turtles, peacocks, etc) on the grounds and in the ponds. The pool is at the end of the resort next to the beach. The resort is very beautiful and very well maintained. You really felt like you were walking though a public garden park every day.
Each set of rooms is entered by walking through a passageway into a central coutyard. Ours was just up the stairs and had a view of the ocean from the balcony. The buildings are all connected by passageways so if it was raining you could make it up to the buffet/lobby area with out going outside.
At the centre of the grounds was one of the a la carte restrauants. It was built out over the central pond area. There were quite a few pink flamingos in the pond. It was a very nice setting for a special evening dinner out. The other a la carte was at the beach and also was a nice sitting. It could get pretty windy there in the evnings though.
