My Thoughts

Caribe Club Princess
My Star Rating: 4.5
We stayed at the Caribe Club Princess for 2 weeks in February 2005. This was our second princess resort and so far the chain has not let us down.
We booked the VIP package (again), which for us was well worth it. Our third floor oceanfront view room was the best! I had read some reviews and had e-mailed ahead with a room request, which was honored! Staying at the Caribe Club you also have use of the Tropical side of the resort. To me it just seemed like one big resort and our building was right in the middle!
Layout- Although the lobby was a little walk from the rooms, pool, beach etc, it never seemed far to us. In fact we hardly ever had to go to the lobby but often would in the evenings just for the nice leisurely walk though the mangrove. There also was a shuttle train that you could make use of. Everything else was located in one central area. Our room building was next to the pool which was right off the beach. The buffet was just up from the pool and the a la cartes on the other side of the buffet. Bars were located all over the place. There were 7 in total. One thing we found strange here is that although we had international drinks available as part of the VIP we had to sign for them each time. It was a nuisance for us the and bar tenders
Room -Our junior suite room was on the 3rd floor and overlooked the beach. You could lie in bed in the morning and watch the early risers jogging on the beach. It was gorgeous! There was a sitting area down a couple stairs from the bed area. It was like paradise to sit out on our balcony and see and hear the waves rolling in. It was the best spot to unwind after a day in the sun.
Food We eat breakfast and lunch at the buffet. We found the food to be quite good, and the wait staff very good! They seemed to be always smiling. As part of the VIP we could book the a la cartes as often as we wanted and we did! They were great. In total there are 7 specialty restaurants through out the properties; Italian, Mexican, Chinese, Brazilian and Dominican as well as 2 extra cost, La Cava and El Pescador, which we got to book once each as part of our 2 week VIP package. The Brazilian would be out least favorite and the Chinese and La cava our favorites. Food and service in all of them was good to great! In fact some of the best weve had.
Beach and Pool This is Bavaro beach at its best. This is one of the best sections of beach in the Punta Cana area. There also were a lot of shade huts and palms on the beach. Through out the 2 resorts there are 3 pools, one with a swim-up bar. The main Caribe Pool was a nice size and never seemed crowed!
Activities- There were plenty of activities of all kinds at this resort. They even had several going on at the same time so you had your choice. The activity staff were very friendly and would take the time to set and talk with you and you would often see them setting and having lunch with the guests.
Home
Overall this was a great resort especially with the VIP package. The staff were generally good, the layout was nice and the a la cartes and our room were the best! We seriously looked at returning the next year but there were just too many other places to try.
