"Whaddya mean?" he replied, playing with his napkin.
"Why he suddenly had to go to LA for 'business stuff.' You know the truth, you're his best friend. And Ali's one of my best friends, and I get the feeling that Nick being in Cali right now has something to do with my best friend."
"You figured me out, didn't you?"
"I know you too well. So spill," she said, leaning closer to Brian.
"Okay, yes, Nick has a crush on her, this much is true, and I know that he's not in LA for 'business,' as he put it. He's there to try and get Ali to dump Kevin."
"Well, that's not gonna work, she loves him," Hallie replied.
"I know. And Kevin loves her too much to let her go, even if she does dump him. He'd never let Nick come between them."
"Yeah, I know. Ali's aware that Nick still likes her, but she put it behind her. She just wants him for a friend, her boyfriend's Kevin."
"Did you know he's writing a song for her?"
"Really? Oh, that's so sweet," Hallie said, looking at Brian suggestively.
Brian got the hint. "Yeah, yeah, I know, don't you worry, I have plans that include music."
"Good," she said, kissing him on the cheek.

"You know, I'm beginning to wonder, what's up with AJ all of a sudden," Jamie said, sipping a soda.
"Do you mean the fact that he finally accepted Ali and Kevin or the fact that he's rarely wearing his sunglasses around Cathy anymore, or the fact that he's AJ?" Howie replied, taking a bite of a french fry.
"All three. He's always been protective of Ali, his sunglasses are a part of his head and suddenly they're not there, and well, AJ always worries me because of the simple fact that he is AJ and that there are places that give more tattoos in Florida."
Howie chuckled before answering. "I dunno about the Kevin and Ali thing, I think he finally realized she's not a little kid anymore, but I'm not sure. The tattoos, I'm beginning to think he's running out of room, so that's a good thing. And the sunglasses, I think he has a crush on our Cathy."
"So do I. I mean, he's known her forever, and I always thought they'd make such a cute couple. As for the sunglasses, I still can't figure that one out."
"Hey, wait a minute, now I remember! Remember, last week, Cathy was playing with those silver ones he has, and she told him that he looks better with them off."
"I remember. Oh, how cute! AJ has a crush on Cathy."

I hate planes, I hate flying, I hate being off the ground, I just hate this, Ali thought as she gripped the arm rest for her seat in First Class. Being in First Class didn't help her irrational fear of being in a plane, she was worse then Brian when it came to flying. All I have to remember is that Kevin's gonna be waiting for me when I get off this flying tuna can, she concluded as she was informed that they were landing in LAFX Airport in ten minutes. Ten more minutes, think good thoughts, ten more minutes, just ten more minutes...
When the plane landed, she ran into the terminal, in search of Kevin and ground that would not move. She was so busy thanking her lucky stars above that she was on the ground again, that she didn't hear someone come up behind her. Suddenly two strong arms were around her waist. She looked down, wondering who the hell this person was, and saw the familiar bracelets on Mystery Man's right wrist and the silver and blue watch on the left. She turned around and was greeted by Kevin with a kiss before she would get a word out of her mouth. When he let her breath again, he asked her, "How was the flight?"
"Bumpy. And not very fun. Did I ever tell you that I'm terrified of planes?" she said with her arms atill around his neck.
"Oh, baby, I'm sorry. I missed you," he said, pulling her closer.
"It's okay. I missed you too," she said, nuzzling her cheek next to his.
"I have so much planned, come on, let's get your stuff," he said before leading her to the baggage claim.
