Chapter Five:
As Ali opened her eyes, she saw someone staring at her.  From three inches away.  Huh? she asked herself as she tried to figure out who the hell was laying next to her, staring at her with a smile on his face.  At least she THOUGHT whoever it was was a he, she HOPED it was a he, actually.  Her eyes cleared in a matter of moments, and she focused on the love of her life smiling at her.  "Hi there," she said, still completely groggy.

"Hi yourself," he said, sitting up and stretching.

Ali continued to lay in bed, not wanting to move.  "How long were you awake?"

J.C. thought to himself for a minute, then looked at the green numbers on the digital clock on her nightstand.  "For about an hour."

"An hour?  And why didn't you wake me up?" Ali asked, pulling sheets around herself and sitting up.

"Because you snore like a moterboat and I couldn't sleep and why are you doing that?  It's not like I haven't seen anything before," he added with a sly smile.

"I do not, liar, and because I'm cold."

"I know, I know, I'm kidding.  You look like an angel when you sleep.  And I didn't want to bother you."

Ali just smiled.  "You are so sweet you're beginning to hurt my teeth."  Ali shifted in her spot and winced.  "Owww, and the rest of me.  I feel like I was hit by a train."

J.C. smiled.  "Well, with everything we did last night..." J.C. trailed off.

Ali grinned in return.  "Yeah, yeah, yeah.  I know what we did last night.  I think half of New York knows what we did last night, hon," Ali said, pointing out J.C.'s, ahem, vocalness.

He put on a fake frown.  "Hey, I was NOT the only one being loud last night,
sweetheart," J.C. said, drawing out his pet name for Ali.

"Oh, yeah, put ALL the blame on ME," she said, faking anger.  But she couldn't resist J.C.'s puppy dog face, and gave in.  "Okay, okay, we were BOTH very loud, you happy now?"

"Yes, extremely.  Now, if you'll excuse me, I will get breakfast started, madam," J.C. said, in a horribly overexaggerated English accent.

"Sure, I'll just be sleeping for the next however long it takes you to cook, thanks," Ali said, plopping her head on the pillow.

"Sleeping?  You got an hour more then me!" J.C. said.

"So?  I need my beauty rest," Ali said, smiling.

"Sweetheart, there is NO WAY you could be more beautiful, trust me.  But do whatever you please," J.C. said, exiting the room in his boxers.
