Chapter Ten:

"Sweetie, are you alright?" JC asked when Ali suddenly put her hand on her stomach, which was growing quickly.  She was now seven months along, and no fans or press found out about her pregnancy yet, amazingly.  They knew that she and JC were dating, but no one ever asked about marriage or anything else in press conferences.

"I'm fine, it's just that...  JC, the baby kicked," she said with a smile.

"It did?" he asked, sitting down next to her on the couch of their new home in Orlando.

"Yeah, here, feel," she said, taking his hand and putting it on her stomach.

Sure enough, he felt a small but fast little kick.  JC was amazed.  "This kid's gonna be a soccer player for sure."

Ali laughed.  "Yeah, I think so."  She looked up at JC, who was looking at her stomach with a smile on his face.  "Whatcha thinking about?"

JC looked up at her face.  "How lucky I am.  Jeez, I can't believe my luck.  The woman I love is going to have my baby in two months and we have a number one single in our home country.  I can't believe how lucky I am."

"Believe me JC, I'm the lucky one."

~Two months later~

"JC, it's time," Ali said, holding her stomach while walking into the living room, where JC and Justin were watching a movie on HBO.

JC's eyes widened.  "Are...  Are you sure?"

"Honey, my water broke.  I am extremely sure.  Can we go to the hospital?"

"Oh, uh, yeah, umm..."  After thinking a few seconds, he stopped.  "What do I do?" he asked in a panic.

"Get in the car, the backseat.  There's no way you're driving.  Justin, grab my bag, it's by the door, and drive us to the hospital."

~*~*~

"Come on sweetie, push, only one more, you can do it," JC said as Ali squeezed his hand.

"I swear I am never ever ever letting you touch me again.  I will make damn sure you will never ever put me through this pain again, that of which involves a size eight three-inch heel," Ali said through gritted teeth.

"They always say that," the doctor said.  "One more push Ali, come on."

Within a few minutes, JC and Ali's baby was born, a girl.  Before JC could even get to look at her, Ali's heart moniter suddenly let out a long wait, signifing a flatline.  Someone shooed JC out of the room, into the waiting room with the rest of the guys and Ali's mother and sister, who were visiting for the week.

JC sat down in an uncomfortable orange chair in the waiting room, and stayed there, wondering what was wrong with Ali, worried out of his mind.  He would be sitting in the waiting room for what seemed like days but was in reality, hours, before getting any information at all.
