"Okay mommy, I'll be right there," Justine replied, standing up from where she was playing in her sandbox.
"Sweetie, could you get Josh for me?" JC asked his wife while trying to toss a salad and keep the dog from biting his ankles.
"Sure thing," Ali replied, walking into the living room, where two year-old Josh was playing in his playpen, sucking on a teddy bear Justin had given him for his second birthday, three weeks prior. The terrible twos hadn't set in yet, and Josh was still the sweetest baby. "Hey Joshie, what are you doing to that bear? You know, there are better things to eat besides that, like Daddy's lasagna."
Josh smiled happily as Ali picked him up, still dragging the bear from his hand, pulled it's ear out of the corner of his mouth and said happily, "Sana! Sana!" signifing that he liked Daddy's lasagna.
"I think someone's ready for dinner," JC said as Ali put Josh in his high chair. "Lana? You ready?"
"Yup. Want me to get Uncle Justin and Uncle Lance from the sandbox now?"
JC cocked his head in confusion and opened his mouth to question his five year-old daughter, but he stopped when he saw Ali laughing. He looked at his wife with the same expression, who pointed outside toward Alana's and Josh's sandbox. There's sitting in the middle of it, were Justin and Lance, building a sandcastle, unaware that they were missing the food. JC shook his head. "You'd think they would learn... Lance! Justin! Get in here before Joey gets to the food!"
"I resent that," Joey said, walking in the dining room with his longtime girlfriend Cassie.
"He didn't eat it all yet, did he?" Justin said breathlessly as he and Lance ran into the room.
"Not yet I didn't, and if you keep talking like that, I will eat it all," Joey said quickly before sitting down at the table.
"Now boys, do I have to seperate you like I did when I first met you? Remember the pizza fight, Chris?"
"Yeah, I remember," Chris muttered. He had been in a slightly foul mood because his wife Danielle had to be in New York for meetings and couldn't be there for the party.
"Come on Chris, she'll be here tomorrow," Lance said, taking a seat next to his girlfriend Carly. "Don't be so down."
"Yeah, I guess she'll be here then. Oh well. Hey Ali, you never told us the reason why we're having this little get-together."
"Don't you remember? It was six years ago today that we all met. Justin and JC and I for the second time, but you know."
It dawned on them instantly. "Oh, I remember that day! That was when we were recording the debut album," Lance said thoughtfully.
"And the night that your ex showed up," JC added, sliding his arm around Ali's shoulders.
"Ex-who?" Alana asked, jumping around in her chair.
"Ex-no-one," Ali quickly said. "Eat your salad."
"Okay Mommy."
JC looked around at the table full of his best friends and family. He realized how lucky he was when he looked at Ali and saw her grinning at another one of Joey's sick jokes. It's amazing those jokes didn't scare away Cassie yet. Those two got together right after Ali had come out of her coma. Cassie had been there for Joey as one of his best friends and they realized they were meant to be together. Chris and Danielle had been together for years, before he asked her to marry him. Thise two were so crazy together, they seriously belonged together. Lance and Carly had met through Ali, it was love at first sight. Ali knew they would fall for each other instantly. Which they did. Justin and his girlfriend Lisa had just gotten together and were quite happy. Justin had been alone for quite a while, and he had once told JC that he wanted what Ali and he had. And it appeared that he was beginning to get it. He looked over at Ali, his wife, the mother of his children. It was a miracle she came out of the coma she had been in, she had slipped into it giving birth to Alana. She had come out of it when JC had the brilliant idea to sing to her, their song, Right Here Waiting. Three years after Alana's birth, JC gave his name to his first son, Joshua Scott Chasez, Jr. Their family was complete. After so many trials and tribulations, their family was finally complete. <+>
