Chapter Seven:
"Why did he do this to me?  I thought he at least cared about me.  He told me he loved me, that liar," Heyleigh said, beginning to sob her eyes out.  Luckily, Justin had just pulled into her driveway.

"Leigh, shhh.  Calm down.  It's okay, he's never gonna hurt you again, I promise.  I won't let him," Justin said, wrapping his arms around her.

She sniffed as she looked up at him with slightly red eyes.  "Thanks Justy.  Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry!  I've been so selfish, you just lost you girlfriend!"

"Leigh, I didn't just lose my girlfriend," Justin said, putting his hands on her cheeks, wiping away her tears.  "I never had her to begin with.  I never cared about her, you know that.  I'm fine, I don't think anyone could be better with this whole situation.  My main concern is you.  Are you alright?"

"A little better, thanks."

"Good, let's get inside," Justin said, taking it upon himself to unbuckle her seatbelt.

"Yeah Chris, I'm staying with Hayleigh...  Yes my mother knows...  No, I don't want to talk to him...  Not for a long time, trust me...  Okay, just do me a favor and bring my stuff over here...  You know where she lives...  Okay, bye."  Justin hung up the phone and ran his fingers through his curly hair, which was what had gotten him his nickname.  He then glanced over at Hayleigh.  She was sleeping peacefully, curled up in a ball, her head resting in Justin's lap.  She had fallen asleep while watching a movie.  Justin didn't want to wake her up or move her, so he sat there watching her sleep.  She looked like such an angel when she was sleeping.  It was almost like she had never gone through what J.C. had done to her.  After a while, he heard someone knocking on the door, and a muffled, "Damnit, where the hell is he?"

Justin carefully moved Leigh's head and went to the door, looking at the clock on the way.  He had been watching Hayleigh sleep for over an hour since Chris called.  Justin opened the door to see a figure holding about ten bags of some sort.  "A little help?" came a voice that sounded like Chris' from behind the walking pile.

Justin laughed as the Chris sounding figure dropped a backpack, revealing to Justin that the Chris sounding creature had Chris' face, which was sporting a very pissed off look.  "Sure," Justin said, laughing, as he picked up the backpack and grabbed a few more bags from Chris.

Chris walked in the living room, following Justin.  He dropped the bags, and Justin said, "Quiet nimrod, she's asleep."

Chris looked over at the couch and at a sleeping Hayleigh.  Chris sighed out of pity for her.  "What the hell was he smoking?  That dumbass, if I had her, then I'd never hurt her, she's so sweet, so caring, so...  everything. And with Britney, no less?  There must be something wrong with him."

"Yeah, there's something wrong with him, that's for damn sure," Justin said, looking over at Hayleigh.

"Ooooohhhhh, Cur-ly's in lo-ove," Chris said in a singsong voice.

"Shut up, you wanna wake her up?  Chris, you are such a dolt," Justin said, pushing Chris into the kitchen before he woke up Leigh.

"Dude, I'm just playing with you," Chris said with a smile on his face.  Then his face turned serious.  "You really do love her, don't you?"

Justin looked from Chris, to Leigh, then back to Chris.  "I really don't know, man, I just don't know.  We've been friends for, like, forever.  I just don't know how she feels about me.  I guess she doesn't want to be more then friends.  I mean, we flirt and all, but that's the extent of the relationship thing.  I just don't know," Justin said, obviously perplexed about the whole Love-Situation with Hayleigh.

"You never know," Chris said with a smile.  "Well, I gotsta go, but keep in touch.  And don't worry about J.C., currently Joey is pounding the shit out of him.  Anywho, take care of her, don't let her do anything stupid.   And, uh, if she ever, you know, needs a little something-something, you know where I live," Chris said, grinning his telltale sarcastic grin.

"Not on your life," Justin said playfully as he shoved Chris out the door.

"I know, I know, she's yours.  Okay, well, I'll see ya," Chris said as he turned on his car.

"See ya," Justin replied, trying to be heard over Chris' rattletrap he called a car.  "Dude, get a muffler!"

"Hey, there is nothing, I repeat, NOTHING wrong with making a lot of noise when you're driving.  Heaven knows you do it with that stereo of yours.  I'll be seein' ya!" Chris said as he pulled out of the driveway.

"What was that?" Hayleigh said from where she was standing behind Justin.

"Oh, that was just Chris and that rattletrap he calls a car.  Did we wake you?"

"Kinda, but I should have been up ages ago.  I take it Chris brought your stuff," Leigh said, looking around the room, which was filled with Justin's bags.

"Yeah."

"I guess we can take this stuff into the guest room," Leigh said, picking up one of Justin's backpacks.

"Yeah," he replied, following her.
Why not in your room? he asked himself as he obidently followed Hayleigh into the guest room.
