Chapter Eight:
Justin and Hayleigh had been living together for a month already.  RCA wanted their pop star back, so did Trans Continental.  But Justin was intitled to time off, he had been working his ass off for the past year without so much as a month off, maybe two weeks here and there.  He was enjoying being free to do whatever it was he pleased.  And he was enjoying having Hayleigh by his side, even if it only was as a friend.  But he still couldn't put away the feelings he had for her.  He was still in love with her, he fell harder and harder every day.

Hayleigh was over JC.  She had been over him for about two weeks, two weeks after Justin had come to live with her.  She was enjoying having Justin around to keep her company, he was her savior during those first two weeks.  He would always be there for her, to tell her that everything would be okay and to hold her when she needed holding.  She didn't know why, but lately, when he wrapped his arms around her, she began to feel different.  Something was going on in her heart, but she was scared to admit it.  She didn't want to be burned again, she was very wary when it came to men.  She only trusted four of them, Justin, Chris, Joey and Lance.  They had become her best friends in the past two months.  JC was pretty much out of the picture, she didn't want to have anything to do with him, and the guys knew it, so they didn't mention his name in front of her.  They were quite pissed at JC also, they couldn't believe what he had done to Leigh.  They had pretty much adopted Leigh as their sister, and were very protective of her.

Leigh and Justin were at the grocery store when it happened.  When it began, rather.  "Justy, could you grab some strawberries?"

"Sure," Justin said, reaching over to grab a carton of strawberries.  "You got the whipped cream?" he asked playfully, with a sexy smile on his face.

Leigh looked at him, noticed the smile, and said while raising her eyebrows, "Yeah, I do.  What do you wanna do with it?" she asked, holding up a can of spray whipped cream.

"What do you think?" Justin asked, walking over to where she was standing, and putting his arms around her waist.

"Justin, what are you doing?  We're in public," Hayleigh said while Justin nuzzled her neck.  The two had pulled this routine before, when people were around them, wherever they were at the time.

"I know, but Hayleigh, I just can't keep my hands off you," Justin said, kissing her cheek and pulling her closer.

"What the hell are you two doing?"

Justin and Hayleigh were stunned at hearing the voice behind them.  Justin didn't want to, but he stopped kissing Leigh's cheek and looked around to where the voice had been coming from.  Who he saw when he looked up made him glare.

Leigh's back was to him, and Justin wouldn't let her go to turn around.  She knew it was him, she didn't want to turn around.  She was thankful for Justin holding her so tightly.

"What do you think we were doing, JC?" Justin asked in a voice that would freeze over hell.

"I HOPE you weren't doing what I think you were doing.  Hayleigh, were you doing what I thought you were doing?"

"What if I said yes?" she said, loosening Justin's grip on her to turn around.  But she held his hands against her stomach when she faced JC.

"Were you?" JC asked, with an angry look on his face.

"Do you think we were?" Leigh asked, still not answering his question.

"Yes, I do think you were."

"Well, we were, what are you gonna do about it?" Justin yelled, a little louder then he had planned.

"Right now, nothing.  But I will do something, trust me on that much," JC said, turning  to leave.

Hayleigh stood there in shock.  Justin's arms were still around her, so he gently turned her around to face her.  "He's not going to do anything to you.  Or me, I promise you that."

"Thank you Justin," Leigh said quietly.  "Let's go home."

"Yeah, let's go home," Justin said, still supporting Leigh with his arm now around her shoulders.

Somehow, Justin knew that something would happen.  His instincts told him not to leave her slone for a second, but his head told him that he was being paranoid and ridiculous and that she needed her space.  So, he let her go for a walk when his heart told him not to let her leave.

"Justy, I'll be back in about a half an hour, I'm taking a walk, clear my head."

"Okay, whatever you want," Justin said, wary of letting her leave.

Three hours later, she still hadn't shown up.  Justin was in a full blown panic, he called everyone he knew to see if she had stopped by, which she hadn't.  Then the idea finally dawned on him.  JC had threatened to do something.  He grabbed his are keys and prayed he wasn't too late as he ran out the door.
