Chapter Three:
"What are you doing tonight?" Justin asked Leigh after she had finished practice.

"Nothing, as far as I'm concerned.  How 'bout you?" she asked, wiping off her face with a towel.

"Me and the guys were gonna go to Pleasure Island.  Would you wanna come with us?" he asked.

Leigh thought about it for a few seconds.  She had met "the guys," and she thought they were pretty cool.  "Sure.  What time?"

"We're all gonna meet at J.C.'s and my house at seven-thirty.  We moved after we formed the band."  Justin had explained to her about 'N Sync and how popular they were in Europe.  "We only live a block from where he used to, on Port Simbor Ave."
(A.N.  This is a REAL street in Orlando, my cousin lives on it,and it was the only street name that came to mind.  And I know that J.C. and Justin don't have their own house, but I wanted them to, and this is a FanFic, remember?  They could ALL live together in this if I wanted them too.)

"What number?  I live there, too."

"Really?  We're at 1770."

"I'm in 1774.  Whaddya know, small world," she said, smiling.

"Yeah."  Justin was interrupted by Britney screaming his name.  He rolled his eyes before turning toward her and telling her to get her own ride home.

Leigh couldn't stand the thought of going out with Britney Spears, she couldn't quite understand why she was a singer, she didn't have that great of a voice.  "Justy, can I ask you something?"

"Anything.  Shoot."

"Is she coming too?" Leigh asked with a face that begged, Please say no, please say no, please say no.

Justin smiled, and replied, "Nah.  She claims she needs to catch up on her beauty sleep."

Leigh rolled her eyes, and Justin laughed.  "I'm sorry, I know she's your girlfriend, I shouldn't,"

"No, it's okay," Justin cut her off by saying.  "Quite frankly, I'm not exactly sure just why I'm still with her.  She really is nothing but a whiney pain in the ass, just like she was four years ago," Justin said, once Britney was safely out of earshot.  Justin may not have cared about her in the least, but he still didn't want to get his ass kicked.

"Well, looks like you got yourself a problem, then," Leigh said.

"I think I may have found the solution to it," Justin said, looking down at Leigh.

Leigh blushed.  Her feelings had definately changed through the past four years.  Justin had grown up majorly.  But then again, so had J.C.  And she and J.C. had a past together, they had dated for quite some time during MMC.  But they were still good friends.  No one noticed that the two were dating, they were such good friends.  Actually, it really wasn't dating, it was just kind of, REALLY good friends.  Friends that occasionally made out in the back of movie theaters.  They appreciated each other's company, sometimes they appreciated each other's company a little too much, if you know what I mean.

Does anyone remember that episode of MMC when J.C. was throwing whipped cream pies in Ryan Gosling and Christina Augilera's faces?  The one when he got whipped cream all over his face, shirt and jeans?
(A.N.  This is a REAL episode of MMC, I saw it recently on Where'd You MMC Them First on the Disney Channel late last year, I have it taped, and J.C. was a bit "happy.") Well, when he came back to his dressing room to clean up, Leigh was sitting on a couch, waiting for him.  J.C. was a bit too, uhh, happy to begin with, and Leigh sitting there looking like she had stepped out of the pages of Vogue, well, one thing led to another, and well (insert the song "Giddy Up" here), needless to say, after that, they were dating exclusively.  But that didn't last too long, that was one of the final episodes that MMC taped that year, and then Leigh went to college.  And she didn't see J.C. for four years.

But now, here she was, back in Orlando, back with part of the old gang, getting used to the new part of her gang, Lance, Chris and Joey.  And then Britney had to step in her life.  And now this with Justin, still having a crush on her... it was obvious...  He never knew about her and J.C.'s, er, fling either.  J.C. and Leigh swore not to tell anyone, since there were no "accidents."  So she and J.C. drifted apart.  But now when she saw him again, she didn't want to deny the feelings she still harbored for him.  And quite frankly, she needed someone again.  She was lonely, that was a given, she hadn't had a boyfriend, a
serious boyfriend since J.C.  All the other guys she dated in New York never really cared about her as much as J.C. did.  The only reason she broke up with J.C. was because she was leaving.  But now she was in Orlando to stay.  And she was ready for a commitment to someone that she cared about.  Be it a pop star or not.

Unfortunately for her and J.C., so was Justin.  He had waited nearly six years for the chance to be with Hayleigh, and damn it if he was gonna let her slip through his fingers this time.  Leigh hadn't changed, that was for sure, she was still the same person she was when she left.  J.C. and Leigh thought that they had everyone fooled with their little act.  Like they hadn't slept together, sure.  Only he had picked up on it, though (the rest of the cast didn't care too much to notice), when the two lovebirds left J.C.'s dressing room an hour after J.C. had entered it, and that huge grin on J.C.'s face...  It was enough to make Justin sick.

He knew it was true, and it was always there, in the back of his mind.  That was the cause of many arguments with J.C., though it usually had nothing to do with what they were arguing about.  But something sparked the arguments, and that something was uaually J.C.'s past with Leigh.  Justin would never bring it up, though he knew it was true, if he heard J.C. admit it, he would have a nervous breakdown at seventeen.  And that would not be good.  So he kept to himself and kept his feelings for Leigh inside all these years.  But he could no longer take it, now was the time, he thought.  Unfortunately, he knew that Britney would probably find them that night and hang all over him, like she usually did, and J.C. would be with Leigh.  If he saw that, then he surely would have a nervous breakdown.
