Chapter Thirteen:
"He's here, I know it," Justin said, pacing in front of a couch in a coffee house they had stopped in.

"Justy, stop it, you're making me dizzy," Leigh replied, standing up and grabbing his arm to keep him from walking back and forth.  "He probably is, and there's not much we can do about it."

Justin sighed and looked at his girlfriend.  He sat down on the couch and pulled her on his lap.  "Hayleigh, I love you, you know that, right?"

"Of course I know that, I love you too.  Why do you ask?"

"I'm not quite sure, actually," Justin said.  "I don't know if it's JC being here that has me spooked or what but I think I just had to ask."

"Well you never have to again, I love you Justin Randall Timberlake, and you better remember that."

Justin smiled.  "Oh, I'll remember.  Don't you worry, I'll always remember."

TWO DAYS LATER:

Justin and Leigh were in their hotel room, watching TV, when a knock was heard at the door.  Justin and Leigh looked at each other, then Justin asked, "Who is it?"

"Hey, it's me," a familiar voice replied from behind the door.

"Oh, hey Lance, how's it goin-"

"Oh, Lance is doing just fine Justy," JC said, stepping out from behind the door when Justin had opened it, holding a small tape recorder.  Justin tried to shut the door in front of JC, but he put his foot in the door frame.  "That was a bad move my friend.  Now, are you going to let me in, or do you have to cause a commotion?"

Justin glared at JC, and seeing the gun he was holding at his side, he let him in.  Hayleigh was terrified, she had been sisting on the couch and had curled up in a ball upon hearing JC's voice.  Justin walked over to the couch, but JC pointed the gun at him and cocked it, saying, "I don't think that would be a smart thing to do right now, buddy."  Justin promptly froze.

"Okay, I don't wanna hurt anyone, espically you, Hayleigh, but I will if I'm forced to.  Now, if you do what I want you to do, then no one will get hurt."  JC paused and walked over to Hayleigh.  "How are you sweetheart?  Oh, poor baby, you got sunburn on your cheeks.  I can take care of that for you," JC said softly as he put his hands on her cheeks.

Justin's temper flared when he heard Hayleigh whimper.  "Don't touch her," he said coldly.

JC turned around to face Justin.  "Oh really?  Well Justy, I think it's a bit too late for that.  I bet she didn't sleep with you.  And I bet I know why too.  It's because you're no more of a man than she is."

Hayleigh gasped, raised her hand, and slapped JC across the face.  "He's more of a man than you'll ever be, you bastard."

JC's head flung back with the force from her palm hitting his face.  "Don't you EVER do that to me again or I'll kill you!" JC yelled, grabbing Leigh by her shoulders and shaking her violently.

Justin couldn't take any more.  He ran over to JC and Hayleigh, grabbed JC and pulled him on the ground and punched him.  Soon enough, the two were wrestling around on the floor, fighting over the gun.  Hayleigh tried to break it up, only to be thrown off by JC and go flying into the dresser, hitting her head and and getting knocked unconscience, her arm being slung behind her, obviously broken.  Neither Justin nor JC noticed, they were a bit busy.  After a few minutes, Justin gained control of the gun.  "Okay, get up and sit on the chair," he said, out of breath.

JC obeyed and sat down.  Then it occured to him that Hayleigh was lying on the floor, her arm bent at an impossible angle.  "Justin....  Hayleigh," JC said, looking over at the figure on the floor.

"Oh my God, Hayleigh!"  Justin sprinted over to her and hit the ground in front of her, still pointing the gun at JC.  "Hayleigh, sweetheart, please open your eyes, baby, please wake up."  Justin looked at JC.  "Call 9-1-1.  Tell them that she fell off the bed and hit her head and probably broke her left arm.  I can only imagine what the press would do if this leaks.  Trust me, I don't care what happens to you, but this is Hayleigh we might bring into the spotlight and I don't want that."

JC shook his head and grabbed the phone.  "Oh, and by the way, JC?"  JC looked up.  "I hope to hell you know I'm pressing charges."

JC glared and hung up the phone.  "Keep this outta the media Justin," he said.  "Neither you nor I can benefit from you or Hayleigh pressing charges against me."

Justin pondered this.  "You're right.  Then there's only one thing left to do."

"What's that?"

"You're not in 'N Sync anymore."
