another rainy, icky day. i had my outfit all picked out for today, but i decided not to wear it this morning because of the rain... it was a skirt and sandals. i decided that if i wanted to be comfortable today i needed to be in jeans and boots.... i think i made the right decision. it's always so hard to wake up on rainy days... i'll betcha the coffee house next door's business improves during these rainy stretches. i know i needed my occasional mocha this morning to get moving.
well, i made it to clay class last night. amie wasn't there cuz she's in las vegas until sunday. i didn't go last week and they had glazed their works and sent them to the kiln - so i assumed mine hadn't been sent, but apparently she sent them anyway - i guess i can still paint them, but i don't know what the difference will be. as it turns out, it may be a good thing i wasn't there last week to paint them cuz there was a problem with the kiln (supposedly the first in five years - yeah, right) anyway, all the pieces towards the top got melted... most people in the class had a least one piece ruined - and ALL of amie's stuff got wrecked.... (guess who got nominated to tell her when she gets back).... but for some reason (possibly because they weren't painted) all my stuff was on the bottom and none of it got wrecked! i was the only one in the class who had nothing ruined... i really got lucky. so yesterday i started something bigger - something that i can't finish in one class period... and it makes me nervous because if i wreck it later it'll bother me more because i put more time into it - but hey, we all have to take chances in life, don't we?
so, call me an idiot, but i just had to tape the final episode of "90210" last night. i haven't even really been watching it for the last couple of years, but i used to watch it religiously for several years in the middle.... so i just had to see how it ended. i cried. yep, i'm a sap. i was thinking that i should keep it on tape and show it to my children someday - it would give them some ammo to tease me with - besides, in 10-15 years i'll probably get quite a kick out of it myself. the only bummer about my taped copy is that there were thundestorm warnings all night, so there's a map of minnesota on the bottom left hand side of the screen for half of the show.
