About
Alexander Hillebrand is a Dutch graphic designer with a lifelong fascination for the intriguing world of M.C. Escher and the expressive use of color. From an early age, he was captivated by Escher’s play with perspective, repetition, and optical illusions—an influence that remains clearly visible in his work to this day.
Over the years, Alexander has transformed this inspiration into a distinctive and recognizable style of his own. His designs combine mathematical precision with artistic freedom, where shapes and structures seamlessly flow into one another. What gives his work additional strength is his use of bright, vivid colors. While Escher often worked in black and white, Alexander deliberately embraces color to bring greater depth, energy, and accessibility to his figurative compositions.
The result is a unique visual world where art and imagination come together—dynamic, playful, and thoughtfully constructed. Alexander creates work that not only captures the eye but also invites the viewer to look longer and discover new details again and again.
