Alden's Music!

this is obviously my opinion

He probably still has most of these but i probably scratched half of them to death.

Toxicity - System Of A Down

11/10 album. no skips. the first time i heard this album i thought i was going to be surveiled by the fbi for listening to something that so openly critizised the govenment.

Mellow Gold - Beck

This album is amazing The lead single loser is still one of my favorites to this day. As well as beercan, wiskeyclone hotel city and fuckin with me head. this record really showed me you dont have to conform to one genre or even record your music in high fidelity

S.C.I.E.N.C.E - Incubus

This album still stands to be one of the best Nu-metal albums of all time, its so techincally impressive while not taking itself too seriously. my favorite song is and will always be Summer Romance (anti gravity love song).

Paranoid - Black Sabbath

This album is a timeless classic, really gave me a grasp on how metal evolved and influenced all aspects of modern rock, punk and metal.

Fight With Tools - Flobots

My First introduction to politically charged music. this album came out in 2008 and is probably the newst cd on this list. despite coming out in 2008, a lot of the points they made still ring true. plus i am a sucker for live instruments on rap tracks.

Flood - They Might Be Giants

I don't even know what to say about this amazing album. if you know you know.

California - Mr. Bungle

This album was insane to me, i always loved genre switching like with ween or beck but mr bungle did it in a way that most others can't plus mike pattons

Ruby Vroom - Soul Coughing

An Amazing album through and through. one of the first projects that taught me to not take your words too seriously. while at the same time finding deep meaning in the absurdity.

Sailing The Seas Of Cheese - Primus

I techically heard this album for the first time on Cassette but he had the cd as well. hearing a singer that isnt really singing, and also playing the bass like a guitar was insanely inspiring to me. i really cant say enough about primus's influence on me as a youngin'

Every Ween CD - Ween

Ween. Ween. What can i say. every lesson i learned with every other album on this list i first was introduced to by the great gene and dean ween. Absurdist? yes. Heartwrenching? yes. amazing guitar work? you bet your sweet ass. i credit my entire existance as i stand today to this band and their work. i most likely wouldnt be making music if it were not for my dad showing me the mollusk during winter break 2015.
