Know the property rents. Key points:
  • In most color groups, there are two smaller properties, and one slightly more expensive property. The two smaller properties have the exact same rent data.

  • For example, St. James Avenue and Tennessee Avenue
  • If you own all properties in a group, and if any of the properties have no houses on them ('unimproved'), you may collect double the normal rent.
  • Houses on the 1st side of the board (Plum, Light blue) cost $50 each. On the second side (purple and orange), they cost $100. On the third side (red and yellow), it's $150. On the 4th side (green and dark blue), it's $200.
  • There is only one huge jump in rents: between 2 houses and 3 houses. All of the other rent jumps are relatively small, but still useful. Building the 3rd house is especially important.

    Boardwalk $50 $100 $200 $600 $1,400 $1,700 $2,000
    Railroads Own 1: $25 Own 2: $50 Own 3: $100 Own 4: $200

NOTES: If you own multiple railroads, and some of them are mortgaged, you still get to collect full rent on the unmortgaged ones. And don't forget the 'rent doubling' provided by certain Chance cards.

Utilities Own 1: 4c the dice roll used to get there Own both: 10x the dice roll used to get there

NOTES: When directed to the 'nearest utility' as directed by a Chace card, you have to roll again. You don't use the dice roll you rolled to get to Chance. Also, you must pay 10x even if the opponent only owns 1 utility.
