(A) Yes,
you can duplicate audio and data CD's for personal
use and backup.
(Q) How many MP3 files can I get on data CD?
(A) The average MP3 song is roughly 4 MB and a
CD-R can hold 700 MB so on average
you can get between 160 and 180
MP3 files on a CD-R.
(Q) Is any of my e-mail, passwords, or other
private information retained on the SUTAMI.net workstations?
(A) SUTAMI.net uses software that removes all downloaded
material and and saved preferences from the hard drive
when the system is rebooted.
SUTAMI.net typically reboots its systems twice daily.
In the mean time we highly recommend that you do not
opt to have applications or web pages save
your password or login ID.
(Q) Can I check e-mail from my ISP (POP3)
at SUTAMI.net?
(A) Yes,you can by using your web based email accounts
and if you have the appropriate POP3 and SMTP settings.
Alternatively we recommend you have your
ISP based email forwarded
to your web based email account. The advantage of
this is that you can check your e-mail anywhere there
is an Internet connection. Yahoo, Hotmail, and Plasa
offer the most popular, free, web based e-mail services.
(Q) What types of removable media does SUTAMI.net support?
(A) 3.25" floppy, CD-R, and CD-RW.
(Q) Does SUTAMI.net offer any specials or discounts?
(A) SUTAMI.net offers special discounts to seniors,
college students, high school and elementary students,
ladies, and couples, as well as nightly packet (Paket
Malam) and monthly Prepaid Membership. See our

(Q) What is Paket Malam?
(A) Paket Malam is one of SUTAMI.net's discounts
where customers pay in advance for whole 6 hours Internet
usage at discounted rate and must be used at one time.
Paket Malam can be taken every night (except Friday
and Saturday nights) from 10 p.m. until 12 a.m. (If
you take Paket Malam at 10 p.m. your Internet session
will end at 4 a.m. If you take Paket Malam at 12 a.m.
your Internet session will end at 6 a.m.)
(Q) What is Prepaid Membership?
(A) Prepaid Membership
is one of SUTAMI.net's discounts where customers pay in advance for selections
of hours (30 or 50 hours) for Internet
usage at discounted rate. The hours in Prepaid Membership
are valid for 30 days and can be used anytime within
that 30 days. There is a 15-hour free membership for
every 150 hours membership.
(Q) Do I have to share bandwidth with other
SUTAMI.net customers?
A) No. The beauty of the SUTAMI.net network is
that it is a switched and managed Local Area Network
(LAN) as opposed to a LAN based on hub
topology. This
allows SUTAMI.net to offer its users a direct connection
to the Internet at a high speed. SUTAMI.net has invested
in a leased-line broadband connection
which gives you fast access to the Internet.
(Q) How do I save downloaded files to a specified directory on the
hard drive to be exported to removable media?
(A) If you plan to export the files you've saved
to disc, you should save them in the "D:" folder.
The D: folder is a shared folder and files
saved there will be accessible
from the Customer Support Specialist workstation where
the CD-R and CD-RW drives are located. If you plan
to export to a floppy disc, all of the workstations
have a local floppy drive so you can download directly
to floppy if
necessary.
