Cottontail Cottage is FUN in capital letters. Always held the week before Palm Sunday, Cottontail Cottage is an Easter Paradise for small children. It's also been a St. Louis tradition for over 20 years. We are currently working on a new location for this year and will be sure to let you know when things are finalized.
2,000 children plus their parents and teachers normally come to visit us, watch our puppet shows and have fun. We hope you'll join us too, and bring your family, neighbors and friends to this wonderful event. (We do ask that groups of 10 or more make reservations by emailing us at [email protected]. Groups under 10 do not need reservations.)
We charge a small admission fee for our visitors (In 2002, our charges will be $2/child and $1/adult) and have crafts and candy to sell at the event as well. The proceeds are used for our philanthropic activities. In 2000, we raised $6,000.00. We used $3,000 of that to send 6 diabetic children to summer camp at the YMCA program in Potosi, Missouri and gave the other $3,000 to a local organization which provides educational training for children newly diagnosed with diabetes and their families.
We have lots of opportunities for volunteers to help us prepare for Cottage and to work with us during Cottage, as well as many opportunities for local businesses to make donations of items that we can raffle off, sell at our craft table or use for the interactive crafts and activities with the children (monetary donations are also welcome).
