Objectives:

At the end of this session you will be able to state:

Structures: pituitary gland, thyroid gland, parathyroid gland, adrenal glands - medulla, cortex, islets of langerhans, ovaries, testes

Hormone secretions: arising from anterior lobe of the pituitary gland, adrenaline, corticosteroids, insulin, thyroxin, oestrogen, progesterone, testosterone

Hormonal changes: post-menopausal, gynecosmastia (feminising) in the male, hair distribution, skin condition, fluid retention

Structure: areola and areolar glands, gland - lobules, milk ducts, blood supply and venous drainage, ligaments (cooper's) fibrous tissue, lymph ducts, adipose tissue
