Gentlemen,

I regret that you had to wait for me at the airport although I never reached my destination. I need to explain to you what has happened.

I was stopped by the United States Airport at JFK International Airport in New York as I was trying to board the plane to Heathrow. When my baggage was inspected, the security personnel mistook my gold assay equipment for some type of bomb or other weapon and they took me into custody. I was subjected to 10 hours of questioning by the FBI without benefit of a public solicitor and without food or water and they would even allow me to go to the bathroom except once. I explained to them the nature of the equipment and I told them that I had no trouble entering the US with it so they should not give me any grief when leaving but they would not listen. Those American bastards confiscated my equipment, deported me back to Ireland and have barred me from entering the US again. All in the name of something called the 'Patriot Act'. I don't know what I am going to do without seeing my poor sick Auntie again. If this is how the Americans treat their friends it is little wonder that they have so few of them.

So as things are, I have no equipment to assay the gold consignment. I will have to trust you that the gold is pure but I want to know what is the lowest possible price that you can take for 50kg of gold and can I send you a down payment for it in order to secure the consignment for a later delivery date? If this is agreable to you please tell me what method of payment you can accept.
