Barter, 1966 (version
1), 1983 (version 2). Recorded: 23-08-66 |
Johnny Kidd
(vocals) - Mick Stewart (lead) - Nick Simper (bass) -
Roger Truth (drums) - Ray Soaper (keyboards) |
The final topside, released after his
death. Two versions exist: one with only the Pirates accompaniment that
remained unreleased until 1983; the
other, with added orchestration courtesy of the
venerable Harry Robinson (aka "Lord Rockingham") made up the
released single a-side. The basic tracks of each are from the same take,
thus the lyrics are identical, except that in the released single version
with orchestration, the extended (echo-ey) "yeeaahhh" at the end of
each verse has been mixed out. |

I've seen you around from town to town
And all I want to do is
Find out where you are, near or far
I've go to get to you-yeeaahhh
Send for
That girl
Must be found
But I'm bound to find her
Now you can see as plain as me
I've got to find that girl so
Help me on my way, must not delay
I've got to get to her-yeeaahhh
Send for
That girl
Must be found
But I'm bound to find her
(instrumental break)
Send
An SOS
To the girl I love the best
Now you can see as plain as me
I've got to find that girl so
Help me on my way, must not delay
I've got to get to her-yeeaahhh
Send for
That girl
Must be found
But I'm bound to find her
Send for - that girl
Send for - that girl
Send for - that girl
(etc to fade) |
