Barry: It is early evening, and the sun has set. The air is cool. There is a quiet air of expectancy. Close to us on a flat stone are two rough pottery cups, filled with a clear liquid. They are a gift from the Earth.

Rob: Beyond the cups I see a bonfire prepared, but not yet lit. Fennier appears and walks in the circle. She is anticipating. I take a cup and drink.

Barry: The Kestrel is perched on the stone just to the right of East. It watches intently.

I pick up the other cup and drink. The liquid tastes faintly of flowers. It fills my mind and veins with a tingling sensation.

The bonfire smoulders, crackles and snaps, it gives of a thick pungent smoke.

Rob: Our intention is to raise power to speed up M.S.'s treatment and speed her through hospital.

I turn and take one of the drums from the totem. The bonfire bursts into flames.

Barry: I strap a drum round my waist, and pick up a large bone.

Rob: I walk clockwise. Fennier joins me.

Barry: In the opposite corner you and the wolf faded into one another. The Kestrel hovers above me. I begin to dance with the kestrel.

Rob: I drum, and we pick up the pace. I have an easy powerful loping gait. The drumming carries me.

Barry: I guide my wings to follow the drum. Sometimes I stop to hover round a stone, then I glide around the circle. I can see streams of power.

Rob: I can smell them with Fennier.

Barry: They stream in from the forest and gather around us. The gliding and running weave the steams together, drawing a curtain around us.

Both: Mutter soto voice.

Rob: The Maypole is the focus of the energy. It is swirling around. The bonfire flames are leaping higher. I can see a cone of energy round the Maypole. I want to keep drumming.

I am moving towards the pole. I am slowing down, but the energy isn't. We need to control it's release.

I can see you as Kestrel.

Barry: The power is like a whirlpool, drawing us closer to the middle. I can see the face of the Green Mother, her long hair filled with ivy. There is an earth smell about her. We are very close to the pole.

Rob: I want to say words I don't know.

Barry: I feel vibrations, it is time to release the energy.

Rob: NOW!!!

Barry: I am lying on the ground next to the pole, I feel dizzy.

Rob: I feel flattened, trodden on.

Barry: The Kestrel tells us to warm ourselves by the fire.

Rob: Fennier tells us to drink from the cups, which are full again.

Barry: We sit by the fire and drink slow and long from the cups.

Rob: The air around is crackling, the last vestiges of the energy that's gone.

Barry: The kestrel advises us to gaze a while at the embers of the fire. The fire acts a s a beacon. There will be a time when we feel lost, needing comfort and protection. This is when we will need the fire and things come to an end. The ashes are blown to the wind. Always the beginning of something new.

Rob: It is time to leave.

Barry: Right.
