I have been busy stripping the Wizard down; I have bolted up the front beam from Antoine so I could roll the car out of the garage and work on it.
I have ripped all the wiring out and removed the doors and the entire interior. I have had a chip and scrap around where the rain gutters have been bodged over and have found a bit more rust but nothing serious. The aerial hole had been just fillered over and the bottom of the windscreen surround appears to have a layer of filler then fibreglass, then another layer of filler. Some rust has crept under it all so I�ll have to strip it all back to bare metal to sort it out.
I also found some rust at the bottom corner of the front wheel arch where it meets the A pillar I think this will be all cut out when the flip front is put in anyway.
I had to remove the Clifford alarm and immobiliser, I followed the wires to the car loom and cut them there, I want to get it re-fitted to another bug anyone out there who can do it? Mail me: [email protected]
