Membership in the ASPD is available in three different categories: as an individual, as a pipe band, and as a highland games association.

- Individual Membership Form. Note that Junior memberships are for those members who have not yet reached the age of 18 years as of January 1 of the current membership year.
Associate members do not vote and do not necessarily play an instrument. This membership is intended for individuals who appreciate the music and wish to support our cause but don't intend to compete or seek a position on the executive.
Active members are those who compete or at least play (attempt to play) a related instrument and who may wish to take part in the running of the Society either through voting or seeking a position on the executive.
