This is a period of change both politically and philatelically. Philippine politics, especially during the middle years drew worldwide attention. After the
EDSA revolution, power changed hands. Likewise, the Bureau of Posts was delegated to the private sector and assumed a new identity, the Philippine Postal Corporation. Stamp collecting was popularized with the offering of Standing Accounts from the Stamp and Philatelic Section of the Philippine Postal Services during the tutelage of Assistant Secretary Tagumpay R. Jardiniano.
Numerous series, mostly
Commemoratives came out. The Birth Centenary of Great Filipinos Series was issued on
1985,
1987 and
1989.
Fiesta Festivals (also known as Fiesta Islands) Series 1 came out in March 1,
1989 (P4.75, P5.50, P6.25 light blue and multicolored). Series 2 (60s, 75s, 3.50p) was issued on June 28,
1989. Series 3 (P1.00, P4.75, P5.50 light blue and multicolored) issued on September 1,
1989. Series 4 (P1.00, P4.75, P5.50 light blue and multicolored) came out on December 1,
1989.

In May 25,
1986, Philippine People Power Commemorative Stamps were issued to publicize the February 22-25, 1986 EDSA Revolution. Four Stamps depicted Pres. Corazon C. Aquino (yellow and multicolored) for a bargain price of P25.00 including a
Souvenir Sheet designed by : R. Asuncion and A. Chuidian, Jr.

The 1988 Olympics was commemorated with the issuance of a series of stamps and sold as one set. Other issues were
